    Warm staff, spotless home, recommended

I'm very happy with our choice - the staff are warm, attentive and genuinely caring, the facility is spotless and feels like home, and the chef-prepared meals and wide range of activities keep my loved one engaged. Independent and assisted living options are available and care has been excellent when needed; move-in and communication were smooth. Cost can be high and independent living offers limited hands-on care, but overall I highly recommend it.

    About Brookdale Mt. Lebanon

Brookdale Mt. Lebanon sits in Southern Hills, just a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh, and the place has something for folks at many stages of aging, whether someone is looking for independent living, needs a little help with daily tasks, memory care, skilled nursing, or even home care options. The building has a strong sense of community, with helpful staff around 24 hours a day and programs set up to help residents stay social, engaged, and independent if they want to be. The staff is known for being friendly, joyful, and kind, helping everyone feel welcome and cared for while also respecting privacy. There are personalized care plans for every resident, so care fits the way each person lives and changes as needs do, all under a Personal Care Home state license. Safety's taken seriously too, with features like a gated campus, emergency alerts, and security around the clock, all so residents and their loved ones can relax.

Life at Brookdale Mt. Lebanon includes a mix of recreational activities and wellness programs, with things like yoga, tai chi, crafting, shopping trips, book clubs, mahjong, billiards, movies, and all sorts of special events-and if someone wants to garden, walk on landscaped paths, or bring a pet along, they can. Social spaces like a coffee shop, library, art and hobby rooms, and a general store give easy ways for folks to meet neighbors or enjoy quiet moments, and guest suites help families visit. Meals get a lot of attention here too, with a chef who prepares food tailored to residents' likes, so eating together feels special and healthy, and there's even a private dining room for family gatherings. Apartments come in several floor plans, from studios up to two-bedrooms with kitchens and walk-in closets, plush carpeting, balconies, and, in some cases, views of the gardens or lots of natural light; the service rate includes utilities and regular maintenance.

The full list of amenities is long: there's a heated indoor pool, therapy pool, whirlpool spa, fitness center, library, computer room, business center, postal services, salon, wellness clinic, transportation for shopping or outings, on-site concierge, cable and internet access, and outdoor spaces for relaxing or visiting with pets. Residents have help if needed with medications, physical therapy, housekeeping, laundry, and linen service. Specialized programs aim to strengthen both body and mind, like the Brain Fit and Know Your Brain activities, and there's a special memory care area for folks with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, along with attention to activities that foster cognitive health and social ties. Veteran residents can find support with VA aid, and the community fits a wide range of payment options, organizing costs into rent and care fees, making things easier to plan out.

The community has won recognition for friendly care and a warm environment, but it isn't fancy or showy-people simply get what's needed to feel comfortable, safe, and supported for however they want to live, whether they're feeling completely independent or wanting more support each day.
