Alpine Nursing Home has served the Coventry area since 1972, and the Gauvin family has owned it since it opened, so it has a long tradition as a family-run, independent facility. The nursing home sits in a quiet, wooded area with park-like grounds, benches, picnic tables, and covered porches, which give it a calm and peaceful feeling. Residents can enjoy views of the trees and professional landscaping throughout the property. Alpine Nursing Home provides long-term care for people with chronic illnesses, and also takes care of those who need short-term rehabilitation after surgery or illness, including orthopedic recovery. The team at Alpine includes registered nurses and specialized caregivers and focuses on giving residents care that's tailored to each individual's needs, offering help with medication management, therapy, and daily activities. The facility covers many healthcare areas, such as wound care, IV therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, respiratory care, tube feedings, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Hospice care and respite care are available for those who need them, and social and recreational programs give residents opportunities to stay active and connected. Dining services and nutritional support are part of everyday life here, and the staff aim to make sure meals meet everyone's dietary needs. People in the Coventry area know Alpine Nursing Home for its reputation for compassionate service and for sticking to a mission of high-quality, personalized care. The facility welcomes both temporary and permanent residents and offers a warm, supportive place for older adults. Staff members focus on knowledge, innovation, and caring for elders, and the community is recognized for its commitment to resident well-being. Warm family feel, inconsistent care
I appreciated the warm, family-owned feel here: many staff were loving, professional, attentive, the rooms and hallways were generally clean, activities and dog visits were lovely, and staff supported us compassionately at end-of-life. However my experience was inconsistent - staffing shortages, rude or inexperienced CNAs, long call response times, medication/administrative problems, and instances of neglect (soiled briefs, poor feeding) were real concerns. The building and rehab feel outdated and meals were hit-or-miss. Overall, there are truly caring people here, but quality and safety are uneven so proceed with caution.
