    Clean well-run facility, caring staff

I found a beautiful, very clean, well-run facility with warm, professional staff - outstanding nurses, aides and an activities director (Christy) who made my mom feel loved; meals, 24/7 bistro/real ice cream, frequent activities and quick emergency response kept her engaged and our family happy. The veterans' discount and placement assistance were vital, and though it's pricier, I felt it was good value for the care. Caveats: you must stay involved and advocate - communication across departments and staff turnover sometimes cause missteps, not all preferences are always followed, and I had privacy/safety concerns about in-room cameras. Overall I'd recommend it with those caveats.

    About The Bridge at Columbia

The Bridge at Columbia sits in peaceful Columbia, Tennessee, and offers a wide range of care services for seniors, so there's a place for independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and continuing care retirement communities, all on one campus, which means folks can stay even if their needs change down the road. The community is set on private, well-landscaped grounds with courtyards, walking paths, water features, and spots for sitting outside like rocking chairs under a pergola, and inside you'll find shared common areas, high-ceilinged dining rooms with chandeliers, comfortable lounges, game rooms, and activity rooms with big windows and an aquarium, so there's always a spot to relax or visit with friends and neighbors. Many folks like the on-site beauty salon and barber shop, the meditation room, a gift shop, and even an ice-cream parlor, which give people nice chances to enjoy the simple things. The apartments offer lots of natural light, and there are different floor plans like studios or larger apartments with kitchens and private bathrooms, so residents can pick what suits their needs best.

The staff focus on giving help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, medication management, grooming, and laundry, and there's always on-site staff and a 24-hour emergency response system for safety. The community offers meals in a restaurant-style dining room-with three gourmet meals each day-and serves special diets when needed, with private dining rooms available for special occasions. Skilled nursing, wound care, intravenous and oxygen therapies, rehabilitation, and support for subacute or respite care are available for those needing more medical attention, with a partnership in place with the Life Care Center of Columbia for easier transitions when skilled nursing or rehab is needed. Folks with memory loss issues like Alzheimer's disease or dementia get care in specially designed areas that help reduce confusion and prevent wandering, and the support staff receive extra training. Housekeeping, laundry, and ongoing health checks are standard for everyone.

Bus transportation services mean folks can get offsite to appointments, shops, or trips to local historic sites, which keeps them connected to the larger community, and there's a structured activity schedule-both onsite and sometimes virtual-for social, educational, or entertainment purposes, so everyone has chances to join in. There's a wellness center, rehab unit, and even devotional services, so residents can work on their health in whatever way suits them. The community keeps things homelike and welcoming, with a focus on details and comfort, always aiming to provide the care each resident wants. The Bridge is recognized for good safety policies, including careful visitor management, and it carries an Accushield® 5-Star Safety Rating. Members, associates, and staff can take part in conventions and industry training, and there are educational resources and a facility finder service for families exploring options. Folks can look at pictures of the community, check activity calendars, or schedule a personalized tour if they'd like to know more. Amenities, support, and gentle routines are all part of daily life at The Bridge at Columbia, making it a solid choice for many families.
