    Clean welcoming community but understaffed

I moved my mom here and overall I'm pleased: the building is clean, recently renovated, warm and home-like, and many staff (Connie and Greta stood out) are kind, dedicated and responsive. Meals and activities can be good but are inconsistent, and smaller, intimate setting feels like family when staffing is solid. My biggest concerns are chronic understaffing (only one nurse some nights), spotty communication, and occasional unprofessional behavior or management lapses. New leadership has made positive changes and handled requests quickly, but price and limited care levels mean you should tour and compare. If consistent staffing matters most, keep looking; if you want a clean, welcoming small community with caring staff, this could be a good fit.

About The Village at Bellevue | Nashville Assisted Living

The Village at Bellevue | Nashville Assisted Living sits along Sawyer Brown Road in Nashville, helping seniors feel at home in a community where people know each other and enjoy friendly company. The place has roomy apartments with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, microwaves, and refrigerators, and you can pick from different floor plans, including studios and two-bedroom suites. Residents live close to downtown and shopping, with easy access to a bus line and parking spots for those who drive, so getting around isn't hard, and they also have free transportation and shopping services if you need a ride elsewhere. The building is well-kept, with both outdoor patios, gardens, pleasant walking paths, cozy indoor lounges with fireplaces, billiards room, community library, Waterford Sun Room, and a bright, inviting foyer with a chandelier-so there's always a spot to visit with friends or relax.

The staff is available around the clock, awake and ready to help with emergencies, and offers hands-on support for daily living like bathing, dressing, and getting from bed to a wheelchair, especially for folks who aren't able to walk too well. If someone needs help managing bowel incontinence, diabetic care with blood sugar checks, or medication reminders, the caregivers handle that too, but they don't give insulin shots. The community covers light and medium care needs, so heavy care isn't available. Nurses are on duty, and therapists visit for speech, physical, and occupational help, plus state-of-the-art rehab therapy is right at the facility. The specialized secured memory care area and the SPIRIT program provide a safe place and activities for those with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or Parkinson's, so family members can feel confident their loved ones have extra protection if they tend to wander or feel confused. Hospice and respite care are available, and if someone wants to stay a short time, maybe when a caregiver needs a break, the facility handles that, as well.

Residents enjoy daily meals served in an elegant dining room with bright flowers and fresh food, and there are options to join meals in a Bistro area and take part in guest meals with visitors. On-site meals and chef-prepared dishes make things easy for those who want less time spent cooking, and kitchenettes in the apartments let folks fix snacks as they like. The atmosphere combines comfort and friendliness, with pets allowed in some apartments and Wi-Fi and cable in rooms for staying connected. Activities fill the schedule-arts and crafts, music, gardening, bingo, outings, live music, game nights, happy hour, story time, walking groups, and a book club, with plenty of indoor and outdoor places to gather. The Lifestyles Director plans monthly activities, so nobody's left without something to do.

On top of regular housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, and in-house beautician services like haircuts and barber visits, The Village at Bellevue accepts credit card payments and Medicaid only, with all-inclusive utilities bundled in so the bills don't get confusing. Residents can take part in religious services, join gardening groups, or help cook in the community kitchen. People can sit outside in the gardens or patios, watch TV in common lounges, or join fellow residents in music groups. Smoking is allowed but only out in designated outdoor spots, which keeps things comfortable indoors.

With friendly staff, long-time administrators, and a reputation for a homey feel, this community suits those seeking Southern hospitality and a little help as they age, whether they want to live more independently or need memory care. The staff supports independence with personal care plans, always aiming to create a safe, supportive environment where folks can enjoy hobbies, make new friends, and live as fully as possible.
