    Friendly community but maintenance issues

I've lived here for several years and the warm, welcoming staff and residents have truly made it feel like home. Care is attentive and compassionate, the social life is lively, and services like transportation, housekeeping and hospice have often been top-notch. That said, the building is dated, repairs (a leaky toilet, broken dishwasher) can be slow, promised amenities (cable) aren't always delivered, and dining/activities quality is inconsistent-at times affected by chef turnover and poor organization, with management sometimes feeling profit-driven. Overall I'm very happy with my choice, but I'd advise others to weigh the excellent community and staff against those maintenance and management shortcomings.

About The St. Paul Senior Living Community

The St. Paul Senior Living Community stands in the Green Hills area of Nashville at 5031 Hillsboro Pike, offering a mix of independent living, assisted living, nursing and rehab, adult day care, memory care, home health, and at-home care plus several senior services, which allows residents to choose what fits best as their needs change, and the apartments here come in different floor plans like The Parthenon, The Franklin, The Hermitage for one-bedroom units, and The Biltmore, The Cottage, and The Belmont for two-bedroom choices, with a four-bedroom layout called The Centennial, and what's nice is that each apartment has modern touches like stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, private balconies or patios, private bathrooms with safety rails, eat-in kitchens, and options for furnished or unfurnished setups, all set in a mid-rise building with elevators, central heating and air, plus generous closet space.

The community feels much like a fine hotel or cozy home, thanks to a comfortable lounge with big windows and a library, plus quiet nooks like the Drawing Room where residents gather for coffee, and a Card Room for long games of bridge or chess; the Windsor Dining Room stands out with restaurant-style seating, fresh flowers, and meals made by an executive chef, and there's even a private space for family gatherings, with lunch and dinner delivered every day if folks want to eat in their own room, and friends or relatives are always welcome to join for meals in the dining area.

What really keeps everyone busy are the art studio, a beauty/barber shop, a courtyard with walking paths, outdoor and indoor parking, a fully equipped fitness center with a walking track, a meditation space, card and game rooms, and even a pet-friendly policy, which means residents can bring their pets, and the community offers a steady stream of activities like movie nights, bingo, card games, exercise groups, musical performances, group outings, and themed parties to keep life lively, along with weekly entertainment and local tours for those who like to get out and about.

Staff are always around, 24 hours a day, giving personalized help with medication, daily tasks like bathing or dressing, and support for conditions like Alzheimer's or memory loss in a separate wing, while those who want to stay independent can use services like home health, apartment maintenance, companionship from trained aides, and professional housekeeping and laundry, and there's even free ride service on weekdays for trips around town, with scheduled activities or medical needs in mind.

Safety's a top priority, so the place comes with optional wireless emergency response systems, emergency call buttons in every unit, and safety rails in the bathrooms, plus handicap accessibility and Wi-Fi, so people can keep in touch with loved ones, while the on-site medical team helps with medicine and health checks, and outside companies can offer extra in-home care if needed.

Life at The St. Paul Senior Living Community centers around a sense of dignity, comfort, and choice, with staff known for being kind and helpful, and a strong focus on letting each resident live as independently as possible, with as much or as little support as they want, and all the usual comforts like roomy apartments, good food, privacy, and plenty of opportunities to socialize, play games, or enjoy a book in the library. The commitment to a high quality of life shows up in personalized care plans, safe and modern apartments, and an engaging calendar full of social, recreational, and wellness activities, all in a setting that's received awards for quality care and fun activities, so there's something for everyone and a welcoming spirit that makes it easy for new residents to fit right in.
