RiverWick sits as a senior living community that's part of Americare Senior Living and privately owned, and the place provides a wide range of care types for older adults, so you'll see independent living, assisted living, specialized memory care for folks with dementia or Alzheimer's, and skilled nursing all together on one campus, and the continuing care retirement community setup means residents can move between levels of support as needs change over time without having to leave the familiar setting. RiverWick offers maintenance-free active adult/55+ apartments for people who are mostly independent, and then there are supportive assisted living options where care partners help with things like medication management, meal prep, bathing, and dressing, and staff focus on helping each person keep as much independence as possible while handling the daily things that get a bit tough with age, and if somebody's recovering from surgery or an illness, there are respite care and therapy solutions to help with short-term rehab, and they coordinate outpatient therapies and offer help for those who find it hard to get out to appointments. Residents who need daytime support have access to adult day care since RiverWick has a dedicated program to give a safe, social space for folks who require supervision and structured activities just during the day. The memory care areas use layouts and staff training that focus on safety and well-being for people living with dementia, and skilled nursing's right there on site when seniors need more complex medical care with licensed nurses available to help, and they organize medical services and coordinate with healthcare providers so folks get seen as needed. Pegasus Express Pharmacy handles medication delivery, which makes it easier for residents to stick to their medication plans. The day-to-day life at RiverWick carries an activities and events calendar full of options aiming to keep body and mind strong, including outings, crafts, fitness, and social events for people who like to connect with friends or prefer quiet time outdoors on the patios, and the staff call their approach Hometown Hospitality™, which means they try to focus on home, laughs, friendship, and small comforts of daily life with help available but not overbearing. The building was designed with spacious floor plans and outdoor areas to give everyone breathing room, and you'll see a range of wellness programs touching on emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health, all aiming to help residents live well at any stage. RiverWick isn't a fancy resort, but it's a place where staff take their time with folks, adapting care based on what each person needs and wants, so people can stay as independent as possible with a bit of help close by when the need arises.
Compassionate attentive dementia care recommended
I moved my mom here and have zero regrets. The staff and administrator are kind, compassionate, and go the extra mile in a well-maintained, home-like community with fresh home-cooked meals three times daily, dementia-appropriate care, accessible safety showers, lots of activities, and family-friendly flexibility. It's pricey, but the attentive, friendly care and pleasant atmosphere make it worth it - I highly recommend it.
