    Friendly staff, inconsistent care; visit

I like the friendly, attentive staff, clean/new building, good food, lots of activities, roomy apartments and convenient location - my loved one seems happy and engaged. That said, care is inconsistent: understaffing, leadership turnover, spotty communication, medication/response errors and safety concerns (no in-unit laundry, limited nursing coverage) left me worried. Staff can be wonderful, but management and clinical reliability vary - visit, ask hard questions, and get references before you commit.

About The Heritage at Twin Creeks

The Heritage at Twin Creeks is a senior living community that offers assisted living, memory care, independent living, respite care, nursing home services, and continuing care retirement community services, and although there isn't much information available about its full background, there is a lot known about the care and amenities there. Residents can enjoy structured activities, educational programs, entertainment, and social gatherings through daily events, and the team tries to support seniors with a sense of community and belonging, making every effort to encourage meaningful relationships among residents and staff in a safe setting, and to respect aging in place for those who want it. Seniors can get help with special diets, enjoy crafted meals in a restaurant-style dining room, order room service, or invite guests for meals, and can use services like housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping. The community features common areas such as meeting and private dining rooms, movie theater, bar/pub, TV lounge, fireplaces, a beautician, and a spa and salon, and there's an arts and crafts center, internet lounge, living rooms, and multiple spots for activities and relaxing. Residents can walk along indoor and outdoor paths, use the raised garden beds, visit the putting green and community garden, and relax in the enclosed courtyard or patio areas, and pets are welcome. Activity programs cover everything from religious services for Catholic and Protestant residents, to sensory programming like snoezelen, and to offsite recreation; the staff manages transportation, both complimentary and for a fee.

The Heritage at Twin Creeks puts emphasis on wellness and dignity for everyone, offering personalized care plans and focusing on each resident's preferences, and staff are available at all hours. Programs like the proprietary "New Traditions" and the evidence-based state-of-the-art memory care offer specialized support for people with Alzheimer's and other dementias, and there's a secured memory care unit with a comforting, structured environment, tailored engagement, and cognitive activities. Residents and families can take part in developing care plans, and the community takes a holistic approach by following the "Seven Dimensions of Wellness" and something called the Surpass Way, which means there's a strong focus on many needs, like mental, physical, and social health. Some people use their 30-day respite program for short-term support after illness or to give caregivers a break, and there are programs that help people recover from surgery or injury. There's a Concierge Medicine program with in-home doctor visits, and a senior wellness program to help prevent chronic illness. The staff is trained to care for different needs, and there's a collaborative care network for aging in place.

Apartments come in private or companion layouts, and residents have high-speed Wi-Fi and internet whenever they need it, and the community also tries to keep families in touch with social media options. The Heritage at Twin Creeks says it goes above and beyond with personalized engagement, tailored activity schedules, and lets residents help shape their own daily routines and care, encouraging a high quality of life, comfort, and engagement every day.
