Meadowbrook Memory Care Community is a purpose-built, single-story community that serves people with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory loss conditions. The building itself is made to be safe and secure, with features to prevent wandering, like secured doors and alarms on windows and bracelets that ring if someone leaves, so residents with memory problems can stay safe. The community uses technology like motion sensors, pull cords, and window alarms that alert staff quickly if someone needs help or there's a safety concern. They accept people with challenging behaviors, including physical outbursts, exit-seeking, or those who wander, and have staff trained to handle major behavior issues.
Meadowbrook belongs to Koelsch Senior Communities, which has over 60 years of experience helping seniors. Residents receive care from a team of dedicated staff, including licensed nurses on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, along with support personnel who can help with daily tasks-such as bathing, grooming, toileting, transferring with lifts or assistance, and giving medications like insulin injections. The nurse works closely with families and visiting care providers, including a visiting dentist, podiatrist, nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist, to manage the needs of each resident and adjust care plans as needed. Staff are always awake and available, and they remind residents about activities and personal care.
The memory care area has its own building and is designed to reduce confusion, with wide hallways, shadow boxes, and open spaces. Living spaces include different room types, like suites, full tubs, and wheelchair accessible showers, so people can choose what fits best. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor amenities, with a club room, garden terraces, verandas, a salon and spa, private and restaurant-style dining rooms, and cozy common areas for group activities or quiet time. Families can bring dogs and cats to live with residents, making it feel more like home.
The community creates a home-like atmosphere through programs and special environments, aiming to reconnect residents to treasured memories. The Living Well program and brain fitness classes help people stay engaged, and other services include devotional activities, stretching sessions, and fun outings to cafes and shops. Staff use Humanitude® techniques to treat residents with dignity and respect, and residents have a personalized care plan that changes as needs increase, so they can stay in the same community as they age.
Meadowbrook Memory Care Community is committed to a safe, clean, and bright environment with no unpleasant odors, and they make sure the community feels welcoming with a warm southwestern-style look and peaceful interiors. Residents have access to Wi-Fi and the comforts of home, along with tools and programs designed to support well-being and a sense of purpose every day.
