    Homey feel but staffing concerns

I liked the cool, small, homey concept and the nice vibe — my loved one smiled and even gained weight. Caregivers were wonderful, loving, professional and attentive, and management answered my questions fully. However staff were clearly overloaded, which raised safety concerns with the caregiver-to-resident ratio, and the owner was unprofessional and didn’t follow through on promises. Overall it feels like home, but staffing and owner reliability gave me pause.

    About Silverleaf at Anderson Mill

Silverleaf at Anderson Mill sits quietly at 11009 El Salido Parkway in Austin, Texas, looking more like a big, comfortable family home than a facility, and they've kept signs off the building to help residents feel like they're truly home, which is something you notice right away. The landscaping is lush, the backyard's got a big deck, and an 8-foot privacy fence wraps around for peace and quiet out there, plus walking paths and gardens make it easy for residents to enjoy the outdoors or just get some fresh air. Silverleaf is licensed by the state of Texas with a facility ID# 030159, and it's set up to support up to 10 or 15 residents, depending on which detail you're looking at, and you can tell the place is small on purpose, feeling calm and friendly.

Inside, Silverleaf offers both private and semi-private rooms, some with their own bathrooms, and each room has individual temperature controls, cable TV, and call buttons in the beds and bathrooms for emergencies, with furnishings provided but residents are welcome to bring special items of their own. There's a family-style dining room where fresh meals are served every day, and they can handle special diets for allergies or diabetes, which matters to a lot of folks, and on some days, things like movie nights or trips get planned as part of their community activities program, which includes both indoor and outdoor options. Caregivers help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and incontinence care, and will assist with getting in and out of bed or around the halls if someone needs extra help. There's always someone on staff, with an overnight caregiver on duty for those who might wake up and need something in the night, and the team speaks English.

Silverleaf's made a point to offer memory care for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, so families looking for that support won't have to worry about loved ones being left out, and medication supervision is handled by licensed health professionals. The entire building is set up for wheelchairs, walkers, and those who aren't getting around as easily as they used to, with hallways and bathrooms made wider, plus there are help buttons for quick assistance. Amenities like laundry and housekeeping are included, and room cleaning and move-in help come with the deal, along with emergency systems-fire, smoke detection, sprinklers, even the "Don't Go Viral" air cleaning system and lights meant to help with daily rhythms. There's parking and transportation if someone needs to get out for appointments or errands, and a laundry list of activities to keep people active, social, and engaged. Silverleaf's smaller size means the care stays pretty personal, and the staff are trained to adapt support as residents age or health changes. Services are tailored, and there are both assisted living and memory care options, plus some independent and nursing support, so seniors who are more active or able can still make it work here. Some amenities are included in the monthly rent, others may carry a fee, but the focus remains on keeping everyone safe, comfortable, and as independent as they want to be.
