    Beautiful facility but unsafe, unreliable

I toured Park Manor and liked the bright, well-kept building, convenient location, and many truly caring staff and therapists (some, like Yvonne Vincent, went above and beyond), and under new management I saw real improvements that sometimes gave me peace of mind. But I also encountered or heard frequent, serious problems: short staffing, delayed meds, missed rounds/feeding, soiled bedding and urine smells, reports of bedsores, theft, and opaque billing. An inflexible administrator and a discriminatory mask policy that led to a policy-driven tour denial convinced me not to bring my mother here. Bottom line: beautiful facility and excellent individual caregivers at times, but safety, staffing and transparency issues make it a no for my family.

    About Park Manor Bee Cave

Park Manor Bee Cave stands as a senior care facility with both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation programs, and folks living here get 24-hour skilled nursing services if that's something they need, and for those needing short-term help, there's respite care to give caregivers a break, while the staff uses both hands-on and high-tech rehabilitation equipment including the latest Biodex machines in their rehab area, and they were actually the first in the area to have that Biodex gear, which comes in handy for joint replacement rehab, stroke recovery, post-surgery rehab, wound care, respiratory care, and they do have a new respiratory therapist on staff now. The facility offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and the therapists aim to use the newest medical research to help improve the quality of life for their residents, and care plans get created with input from residents, families, and their healthcare team to try and meet each person's specific needs, so you end up with personalized care and treatment plans that change over time if a person's care needs shift. People can choose between studio or companion units, and every resident room gets connected to the broader areas, including an arts and crafts room, a beauty/barber shop, and quiet spots like the outdoor courtyard, garden, gazebo, a putting green, and walking paths, and there's a patio plus spots for outdoor activities. People living here can take part in movies, social events, worship services, and outings, and there's organized transportation as well. There's a dedicated team including nurses, clinicians, a licensed pharmacist, and other medical staff, and the staffing hours per resident per day are measured to help support care. It's equipped to deliver skilled nursing services, assistance with bathing, IV therapy, and medication management, plus infection control policies are in place to help keep everyone as safe as possible without being intrusive about it. The facility must meet specific rules, and it's had reported deficiencies in areas like resident assessment, care planning, and pharmacy services, including making sure they had a licensed pharmacist and doing accurate assessments, with 29 total deficiencies noted in inspection reports, so families should check the inspection history if that's important to them. Park Manor Bee Cave supports a sense of community and dignity, offering privacy and non-discrimination policies for all, and anyone with concerns about their care or issues with the facility can use a free, confidential ombudsman service for help resolving complaints, so people don't have to feel alone if something's not going right.
