    Quiet building, poor maintenance, unresponsive

I've lived here 8 months. The building is quiet and my unit is comfortable and the other tenants seem nice, but the deposit process was rough and since moving in it's been horrible: poorly maintained, needs upgrades, and management is unresponsive, money-focused, and lacks accountability. Staff are often unavailable and residents aren't cared for - I'd look elsewhere.

    About Katy Creek Retirement Village

Katy Creek Retirement Village in Bonham, Texas, gives seniors a quiet place to live with helpful staff who keep things friendly and joyful, and you'll notice people care about their neighbors. The Katy Creek Retirement Apartments come in one, two, three, and even four-bedroom units, many with front porches, outside storage, and pet-friendly options, and the grounds are single-story for easy walking, which makes it nice if someone wants to avoid stairs. The community offers several care choices, including independent living for those who handle things on their own, assisted living if someone needs help with day-to-day activities, and memory care for folks dealing with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, with rooms and spaces set up to keep everyone safe and comfortable. People living here can join activities that help them stay active and connected, and the activity programs have even won awards for keeping seniors engaged. There are things like a community laundry room, a kitchen for group meals or gatherings, a shared library where you can grab a book, plus outdoor areas, barbecue spots, parking, and extra safety with gated entryways and doormen, and some places have nice extras like pools, patios, hot tubs, or waterfront views depending on what someone wants. Most of the apartments include ceiling fans, central heat and air, energy-saving windows, and bathroom grab bars in select units, so daily life stays comfortable, and things like sewer, trash, and water are already covered in the rent. The property has 24-hour emergency service and on-site maintenance, so help comes quickly if there's a problem, and they let you bring pets if you want. Seniors can get rental help, including covering up to all of their rent, and Section 8 housing vouchers are accepted, which makes living here more affordable for people 62 and older. Meals are nutritious and use good-quality ingredients, so residents don't have to worry about cooking every day. With peaceful surroundings and a welcoming atmosphere, Katy Creek offers both privacy and plenty of ways to socialize, whether someone likes to join in activities or just sit outside on the porch and enjoy the air. The place has earned an average rating of 3.7 from three reviews, and directions are available for visitors who want to stop by.
