The Residences at Bridgeport Medical Lodge sits at 2106 15th St in Bridgeport, Texas, and you'll find it offers a medium-sized community with 36 beds, which keeps things friendly and not too crowded, and they have studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts so you can pick what fits best. Residents get help with daily tasks if needed through assisted living, companion care, skilled nursing, respite care, and even memory care services, and there's a good focus on safety with walk-in tubs, medication dispensers, home security, and protection from things like ID theft. Meals come included, so you don't have to worry about cooking, and there are common areas where people can gather inside, plus on-site activities, devotional services, and chances to get out for offsite events when you want some variety. The place also supports seniors' independence, offering different internet and cable plans, special phones like Jitterbug, and help reviewing medical alert systems from brands like Bay Alarm Medical and Medical Guardian, which some folks find reassuring. Health and wellness are covered with guides for things like Social Security and caregiving, and you can find information about paying for care with a Senior Care Cost Guide, as well as details on what assisted living, nursing homes, and memory care might actually cost. You'll see a range of living setups from independent living to apartments, condos, and townhomes, so there's some choice, and if you need rehabilitation, ambulatory, diabetic, or incontinence care, staff can handle that too. Unsafe understaffed disorganized care facility
I had a mixed but mostly negative experience. The rehab team and some nurses/CNAs were excellent and meals/activities (that pimento cheese sandwich was yummy) were a bright spot, but the facility is chronically understaffed and disorganized. I watched residents wait long times for help, go days between showers, be overmedicated or miss doctor appointments, and fall multiple times; alarms were disabled and doors propped open. Laundry and belongings disappeared, meds were mishandled and billed, and communication from administration and the front desk was poor or nonexistent. Management was abrupt and unresponsive, memory care moves and COVID visitation were mishandled, and overall it felt unsafe-I would not trust them with a loved one and I recommend daily visits if you have no alternative.
