    Beautiful community but care inconsistent

I toured and moved my mom into Sodalis - it's a beautiful, bright, hotel-like community with lovely common spaces, lots of activities, a chapel, and many genuinely caring staff (Ricky and the front desk were very helpful). Memory care and enrichment programs impressed, dining/nutrition can be good, and safety/features/layout are excellent, but care is inconsistent: staffing turnover, missed meds, linen/laundry problems, poor communication and troubling billing/customer-service issues (expensive, extra memory-care charges). I appreciate the warmth and effort of many staff and residents, but I'd recommend it only with clear written care expectations and close oversight.

    About Sodalis College Station

Sodalis College Station sits on Harvey Road in College Station, Texas, and offers a quiet, homelike setting for seniors who need assisted living or memory care. The state licenses this facility, and the company has provided senior care in Texas since 1998, so they've got experience taking care of people with varying needs. The place has different living options, including studio apartments, single rooms, semi-private units, and one-bedroom apartments you can reserve with a deposit if needed, and most areas stay pretty spacious with lots of natural light. The building's secured for safety, especially important for residents with memory loss like Alzheimer's or dementia, and the memory care side uses carefully trained staff and things like the Tovertafel Interactive System to help keep everyone engaged and alert.

There's a choice of activities based on what residents like to do or their hobbies, and there's a full calendar to keep folks active and connected, plus a movie theater, bistro, chapel for spiritual services, and a spa-like salon right on site, so a resident doesn't have to give up much of what he enjoys even if he moves in. Staff includes a full-time nurse and a concierge who helps with daily needs. The team takes care of bathing, grooming, hygiene, medication reminders, weekly housekeeping, laundry, and daily bed making. Residents can bring their pets because the place welcomes animals, and the grounds have a beautifully landscaped courtyard with a covered patio, so people can visit or enjoy fresh air when they wish.

The dining program focuses on nutrition and includes meals and snacks meant to keep the mind healthy, and there's a bistro for social eats. If someone needs to visit the doctor or just go shopping, scheduled transportation will take them there, and you'll also find an on-site therapy room and wellness center. Security's a big deal here-there's wireless personal emergency service and staff on duty around the clock to watch over everyone. The environment feels family-like, and the caregivers are both well-trained and caring; each care plan gets made to fit the resident's needs, whether for assisted living or a specialized memory care approach. Extra support for couples with different needs is available too, and everyone gets the benefit of both companionship and privacy. The facility makes it simple to tour, with virtual visits offered for those wanting to see what's here before moving in.
