Del Rio Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing facility that provides care for older adults needing short-term recovery, long-term support, or special dementia care, so people can get what they need if they're coming out of the hospital or if they need a place to stay and live as their care needs change over time. The facility accepts Medicaid and Medicare, which helps many families, and it's known in the community for its caring staff and steady commitment to patient well-being, though you won't find much information available about it online. Care here gets planned by a skilled team, and everyone has their own plan based on health needs, whether they're getting skilled nursing help, rehabilitation after surgery or illness, or memory support for dementia. The care team includes a registered dietician to handle special meal plans, and staff provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy, along with help for those who need more medical attention. Del Rio Nursing & Rehabilitation Center follows the Touchstone Experience philosophy, which means they aim for high standards and treat folks with respect while upholding values of family partnership and kindness, guided by faith, and they're part of the larger Touchstone community. The center also offers respite care if families need a short break, giving loved ones a safe and supported place to stay. The setting feels family-oriented, with comfortable rooms that allow for privacy, plus a nice dining room where people can eat local, home-cooked meals. There's a courtyard and a covered patio for fresh air, and an on-site beauty salon and barber when residents want a trim or a bit of pampering. Folks have access to Wi-Fi, electric beds, and other comforts, and if someone needs a ride to a doctor's appointment or group activity, transportation services make that easy. The gym for rehab is well equipped with what people need for their recovery, and there's a steady calender of individual and group activities-people get to join in art, music, gardening, movies, and outings, so there's some fun mixed in with the care. The facility gets above average marks from CMS for inspections and staffing, and it's accredited by healthcare authorities, so families can expect steady attention to quality and safety. Del Rio Nursing & Rehabilitation Center keeps its focus on each person, offering skilled nursing, memory care, rehabilitation, and both short-term and long-term stays in a safe, supportive place.

Inconsistent care with compassionate staff
I had a mixed experience. My mom's health improved, rehab was good, many staff were kind and attentive, rooms were clean and nurses often felt like family. But I also witnessed serious problems: calls unanswered, a resident left soiled for hours, poor medical care/no PT assistance, rude and dismissive office staff, bad communication (hung up on and ignored), an abrupt discharge after 20 days without equipment, and being charged for days not stayed. The building needs remodeling, and I'm considering an APS report and possible Medicare concerns - great people at times, but inconsistent and sometimes neglectful care, so I would be very cautious.
