    Family-run home with compassionate care

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased. The small, family-run 16-resident home is spotless and safe, staff are loving, attentive and knowledgeable about dementia, and care is highly personalized with one-on-one attention, fresh home-cooked meals, and engaging activities. It's expensive, but the communication, compassion, and overall quality have made it worth it for our family-I highly recommend.

    About Serenity Gardens - Dickinson

Serenity Gardens - Dickinson is an assisted living community that sits right in Dickinson, Texas, about halfway between Galveston and Houston next to Interstate 45, and it's a medium-sized place with room for 16 residents, so things feel close-knit and familiar instead of big and busy. The community accepts seniors who want their independence but still need help with things like bathing, getting dressed, transferring, or taking their medicine, and the staff, who are awake and available around the clock, are well-trained especially in memory care for people with Alzheimer's and dementia; they help with all kinds of daily activities, watch over residents who might be prone to wandering or need extra behavioral support, and use technology like alarm bracelets to keep people safe, and there's a separate, secure building just for memory care that's designed to reduce confusion for folks who get disoriented easily. Seniors here can choose studio-style rooms, and the building itself is wheelchair-friendly, with showers anyone can use, and comforts like a beautician onsite, furnished rooms, telephone access, and community walking paths and garden areas where people can take a stroll or sit and relax.

Serenity Gardens doesn't just focus on medical support but also puts thought into daily living and activities, with a full-time activity director organizing games, art sessions, live music, movie nights, and holiday events, and there's plenty of social engagement with children, the wider community, and even pet programs since residents who can care for their animals are welcome to bring their dogs or cats; the property's even got a secure courtyard for outside time, and family members can meet with the full-time manager to talk about future care plans anytime they need. Meals are home-cooked, with family-style dinners that make it easy for residents to sit together and feel at home, and staff handle special diets for allergies and diabetes, plus there's always snacks available. For folks who need extra support, they offer medication management, incontinence and toileting services, and various therapies right onsite since doctors, nurses, podiatrists, dentists, and different therapists visit regularly, so residents can stay put and still get professional care. The community supports aging in place, meaning residents can stay even if their needs change from light to heavier care, and offers things like respite and hospice services if needed.

For brain fitness, there are special programs like reminiscence therapy and light therapy, and activities like stretching classes, trivia, Dakim brain games, karaoke, and wine-tasting sessions, which help people stay engaged and connected. Staff are attentive and compassionate, and they're particularly skilled at creating a safe, home-like environment for people with memory challenges, and the place has earned an average rating of 9 out of 10, which is the highest in Dickinson; still, the Seniorly community score is 3.8, so folks might want to look at both before making a choice. All meals, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and even move-in coordination is included, and the community is careful to allow both privacy and support, with options for family-style living and dedicated memory care sections. The license number for Serenity Gardens - Dickinson is 148985, and it's a limited liability company with a total capacity for 16 people, offering a calm, safe, and friendly home for seniors who want support, company, and care no matter how their needs might change.
