    Beautiful facility but unsafe care

I liked the clean, hotel-like building, friendly receptionists and some really excellent therapists and CNAs who knew routines. I saw good rehab, nice rooms, activities and generally edible food for most diners. But the positives were undermined by long call-light waits, staff on personal phones, inconsistent and often rude nurses, and frequent understaffing-night shifts were the worst. Administration and admissions were unresponsive and defensive; sales clearly overpromised the level of care. I experienced delayed meds and labs, missed wound/diabetes care, poor hygiene for some residents, isolated incidents that required ER transfers (and one death), and reports of theft. Discharge meetings were useless and communication was poor. Beautiful place, but the clinical care and management are unreliable-I would not trust this facility with a vulnerable loved one.

    About The Harrison At Heritage

The Harrison At Heritage sits in Fort Worth, close to hospitals, doctors, and places for entertainment, so it's easy for families to visit and for residents to get medical care when needed, and the whole place feels friendly with staff who take pride in providing reliable and compassionate care, whether someone's here for a short stay to recover after surgery or plans to stay long-term, and you'll find they pay attention to the details that help people keep their independence while still offering support for daily needs like meals, medication, bathing, and other personal care. The building holds 120 beds in private and semi-private studios, and there are common areas and indoor spaces where people gather for activities like group exercise, chapel service, games, crafts, book club, and there's a library with computers and the internet, so residents stay connected to family and news, and then there are peaceful courtyards, just perfect if someone wants some fresh air or to watch birds, with nearby trails, ponds, playgrounds, shops, and things to do.

The staff include nurses and aides with years of healthcare experience, always around, both day and night, to help with things like wound care, diabetes, incontinence, walking, and rehabilitation - they even have labs, X-ray, and electric beds for comfort, along with external and parenteral therapy services, and therapists work with folks who need to build up strength or speech after an illness or injury. Some seniors live independently, enjoying a hassle-free lifestyle with housekeeping and meals provided, while others receive assisted living or memory care in secure areas, with special programs for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, so people who may wander stay safe, and routines and activities reduce confusion. The kitchen serves up nutritious meals made from good ingredients, and special diets are prepared if needed, so everyone can eat well and stay healthy.

The entire approach at The Harrison At Heritage centers on an individualized care plan, so the medical team and social workers put together the right mix of care and activities for each person's needs, whether they need post-surgical recovery, help managing a chronic condition, hospice support, or just enjoy the chapel or devotional gatherings, book club, or crafts in the common room. The facility's been recognized for high healthcare standards, strong community engagement, and a culture where friendliness stands out, and while the building feels modern and resort-like, the residential setting and daily rhythms make it feel very much like home.
