    Compassionate, responsive memory care community

I couldn't be happier with Arbor House - the staff are professional, compassionate, and truly knowledgeable about memory/Alzheimer's care. My mom loves living there, is safe, engaged in activities, sleeps better, and gets individualized, above-and-beyond attention from a team that greets her by name; the director is responsive and the bright, clean facility exceeded our expectations. For respite, assisted living, or memory care near Carrollton/Flower Mound, I highly recommend them - they became like family to us.

About Arbor House Assisted Living Memory Care

Arbor House Assisted Living Memory Care gives care to people who can't live alone safely but don't need a nursing home, and they've got special help for memory loss, like those with Alzheimer's and dementia, with a staff that goes through required dementia-specific training so they're ready for the unique needs that come with memory problems. The community strikes a balance between supporting independence and offering help, using a resident-centered approach where each person has the right to make decisions about what they need, and caregivers at Arbor House, who they call "friends," build close relationships with residents, spending time talking with them and helping with daily activities like bathing, eating, or getting dressed. You'll see both women and men living here, with living options for private or semi-private furnished rooms-each with its own bathroom, cable TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and even kitchenettes, if that's wanted, while the shared areas include a dining room, fitness center, library, game room, art space, wellness room, movie theater, gardens, and outdoor courtyards, always locked but open for residents any time so they can enjoy some fresh air. The whole place feels like a home, with bright walls inside and a classic brick outside, big lawns, mature trees, and lots of places to sit and talk, and there's always something to do, as they've got over 50 daily activities through a program called Life in Motion, and you might find folks playing games, taking walks, or joining craft sessions, both inside and on scheduled trips elsewhere. They allow pets, and while there's no smoking in any indoor public or private area, there are set outdoor spots for that if someone really wants to smoke. Nurses are on site for twelve to sixteen hours daily, with a 24-hour emergency response system, regular visits from specialists, and plenty of support for things like medication, emergencies, transfers, and wheelchair needs, so families tend to feel more at ease. There's a special memory care wing with its own safe layout, quiet TV rooms for small family visits, house-style dining areas where people can eat together or by themselves, and kitchens that stay open all day and night for a snack or a meal, and staff members offer help at any hour. Services cover daily chores like cleaning and laundry, help with bathing or managing medications, and even on-site beauty and barber services, so folks don't have to leave for basic needs. They offer community transportation for doctor visits or group outings, as well as Day Stay and short-term respite care when space is available, so families get a break if they need it. Food is made by a chef and served in a dining room, with attention to special diets for allergies or diabetes. The facility's design is meant to cut back on confusion and anxiety, with smaller "houses" inside the community, following studies that say this setup helps people with dementia feel more settled. Arbor House makes sure there's always supervision for people with memory issues and plenty of activities that keep the mind and body moving-like music, movies, walks, or quiet time alone if that's what someone wants. Their staff gets training every year on dementia care, fall prevention, restraint alternatives, and emergency procedures. They're a for-profit business, set up to hold up to 52 people, all with memory care needs if necessary, and the staff speaks English. In the end, Arbor House Assisted Living Memory Care offers a steady, friendly environment that tries to let every resident keep as much independence as possible, while also making sure help and safe spaces are always there.
