Wilshire Place has 72 senior living apartments and provides full service Assisted Living and Memory Care for residents who need extra help or can't live alone safely anymore, and the place has a home-like feel that's set up to remove obstacles and cut down on stress, with both private and common spaces, and the staff-called caregivers-are trained and experienced, always around to help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, as well as offering a kind word or a little company, and there are activity programs and wellness checks going on all the time, plus an exercise room so folks stay active, and the dining room serves three meals a day plus snacks, and the kitchen staff knows about diabetic care, incontinence care, and what folks with different health needs have to watch for in their diet, and the licensed, credentialed staff keep track of each person's needs, especially if there's memory loss or more complex medical issues involved, because that's part of the specialized high acuity Memory Care where the environment and routines are built to reduce confusion and keep everyone safe, and folks who want a more independent lifestyle without all the chores can pick independent living apartments that are social and hassle-free, and then there's scheduled transportation for doctor visits or errands, Wi-Fi for staying in touch, and places for relaxing or visiting with family, and for those still living at home, Wilshire Place offers non-medical Home Care with trained aides for companionship and daily help, and everything from the wellness program to the property management is designed so seniors feel respected and treated with dignity, and residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible, but know help is close by when it's needed, and with security, good food, and activities, life at Wilshire Place is meant to be simple, comfortable, and safe, and families can tour to see for themselves how the staff tries to treat everyone like family.

Lovely facility, some concerning issues
I placed my mother here and overall it's a lovely, very clean facility with caring staff, a wonderful activities director, friendly residents, and lots of daily programming (exercise room, library, beauty shop, atrium). The one-bedrooms are roomy with full-size fridges and ample storage, and the grounds and artwork are beautiful. Downsides: it's expensive, rooms feel drab and dark with low ceilings and narrow hallways, parking is small and crowded, and the food is serviceable but a bit institutional (my mom complained). There have been a few disturbing reports of staff mistreatment that weren't always handled well, so I'd recommend visiting and asking questions-but overall the staff and community were helpful and my mother adjusted well.
