    Great staff but inconsistent care

I have mixed feelings. The newer, well-maintained facility, excellent therapy, tasty/nutritious meals and many caring staff (Tonya, the Nutrition and Social Services teams, environmental and transport aides) go above and beyond and make residents happy. But I've also witnessed serious lapses - understaffing, high turnover, poor night coverage, missed feedings/bathing, incorrect meds, untreated wounds, poor communication and a room camera/privacy concern. I'd recommend it cautiously: great people and services, but inconsistent care and safety issues need to be addressed.

    About Palomino Place

Palomino Place offers several types of care under one roof, with a focus on supporting older adults in a comfortable setting, so you'll find assisted living, independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing services all in the same place, and they have nurses, clinicians, and therapists around day and night to help with anything from regular health care and medication to wound treatment and personal care like bathing, dressing, or using the bathroom; folks who need extra support for memory challenges like dementia or Alzheimer's can get an individualized care plan, and for people recovering from surgery or illness, there are physical, occupational, and speech therapies available, as well as shorter-term stays for respite or rehabilitation, and the staff helps with things like incontinence care, diabetic care, or help getting around if someone uses a wheelchair, with pharmacy and diagnostic services like lab tests and X-rays offered on-site, and a team that manages complex cases-whether it's cardiac issues, strokes, chronic illness, hospice, or palliative needs-making sure the focus stays on dignity, comfort, and well-being. Residents live in a well-kept and pleasant environment with private and semi-private rooms, safety and handicap-accessible features, and amenities like Wi-Fi, a fitness room, game areas, and shared spaces where people can gather for meals, take part in clubs and activity programs, arts and crafts, devotional events, or take trips off-site, all meant to help seniors enjoy friendships, keep up hobbies, and stay active and engaged. Meals are served every day and special diets are taken care of, with staff on hand so residents can eat and socialize in the dining areas, and when needed, a personal care assistant can help with grooming or getting ready for the day, which supports independence but makes sure there's always help nearby. Transportation is available for appointments or community events, and the facility has scheduled housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance so residents don't have to worry about upkeep. Before moving in, Palomino Place explains each level of care and helps families through the process, discussing things like contracts, insurance, waiting lists, and personalized move-in plans, and they give tours, both in person and online, so families can see what daily life there's like, and initial consultations help set up custom care plans based on each person's needs. There's always a staff member around, so everything from walking assistance to emergency support gets handled right away, and for families who want peace of mind, the place is licensed and keeps up its inspections for quality and safety. The goal at Palomino Place is to give personalized care with respect, whether someone's there for a short recovery, long-term living, or specialized memory support, so each resident can feel as comfortable and independent as possible in a setting designed for seniors.
