Good facility, poor infection control
I experienced a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility with outstanding therapists and many genuinely caring staff (shoutouts to Samantha, Julie and Colleen) and an easy admission process. But a COVID outbreak, poor quarantine/testing, and at least one resident death revealed major infection-control, leadership and communication failings. The nurses' station was often unresponsive, updates were scarce, meds/therapy/diabetes and wound care were delayed or missed, and cleanliness and food quality were frequently unacceptable. Some staff went above and beyond and residents improved with therapy, but inconsistent care, short staffing and lack of administrative accountability make me hesitant to recommend it without close family oversight.
