    Caring staff, clean facility, pricey

I placed my mom here and overall I'm pleased. The staff - from aides to directors like Tonya and Mindy - are caring, attentive and felt like family; move-in was seamless and the building is spotless, bright and smells fresh. Meals and activities are generally enjoyable (though service can be slow, food sometimes cold, and activities dipped during COVID but are improving). Rooms are clean but small; it has a cozy, hotel-like, homey feel and gave us real peace of mind. Downsides: it's pricey, corporate/management decisions can get in the way at times, and there are occasional staffing/security concerns - but I still recommend it for compassionate, hands-on care.

    About Brookdale

Brookdale sits in a single-story building that's easy to get around, allowing sixty residents, where folks can pick from studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or cottage-style apartments, all with walk-in closets and kitchenettes, and there's even guest apartments and accessible housing for those who need them, plus parking options like regular lots and garages, so it feels a bit like a regular neighborhood, and pets can stay too, but only with some restrictions; through Brookdale, well-known for different kinds of senior care, residents get assisted living, independent living, memory care, home care, hospice, respite care, nursing home support, and care homes, and they've got staff on hand around the clock with a 24-hour call system and emergency response, as well as state license #311665, which gives reassurance for anyone checking the paperwork. Folks get help with things like bathing, dressing, transferring, and medication, along with 12-16 hour daily nursing care for those who need it, plus therapies including occupational, physical, and speech, and more support groups, while memory care services take into account safety and confusion concerns for residents with dementia, and there's pet therapy and holistic well-being programs too, for those with different needs. Residents can take part in many programs and activities, whether that's religious services (including Catholic and other church options), arts and crafts, culinary lessons, music, culture, literary groups, or lawn sports, so boredom is hard to find, and the place has entertainment options like a movie theater, arts room, game room, fully-stocked library, plus computer rooms, cable and satellite TV, and even a swimmable pool with aquatic fitness classes. Outdoors, there are peaceful gardens, patios, recreation spaces, walking paths, a fenced dog park, water access, all meant for relaxing or getting a bit of fresh air, and staff keeps everything tidy with housekeeping, laundry, linens, groundskeeping, and maintenance services, which helps keep things comfortable for everyone. Respite care's available if someone's caregiver needs a break, and meals come restaurant-style, with nutritious low-fat and low-salt diet plans for anyone following doctors' advice, where you can eat when you're hungry, picking out food that works for your health, because the priority stays on residents staying well-fed, comfortable, and happy. Transportation takes people out to parks, cafes, and community outings, and there's parking for both residents and visitors, so family or friends can come and go as needed. There's business features like the business center, conferencing rooms, photocopying, faxing, elder law and estate planning help-plus veterans' aid, acceptance of long-term care insurance, private paying, and elderlife financial planning-so families can sort out paperwork right on-site. Fitness and wellness programs let people stay active, and the staff tries to match up care to resident needs, whether that means more personal care or specialized programs; the main goal is to be a safe, caring place for older adults who want to keep busy, be social, and have help when needed, with all the usual comforts like a beauty shop and barber, clean rooms, cooked meals, and always someone to lend a hand with daily things or emergencies, without trying to make things feel forced or fancy, just easy and reliable.
