Monarch at Richardson sits in Texas and offers assisted living and memory care on one campus, so residents can get the help they need as their needs change, and they've recognized that people do best with personalized plans, so they'll look at what each person actually needs in daily life whether it's assisted living with a little support or the Valeo™ Memory Care program for those living with dementia or Alzheimer's, and these care plans try to give as much independence as possible, using the Salus™ wellness approach from Solvere Senior Living, which covers physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being so folks can have purposeful, active days for as long as they're able. Monarch at Richardson has room for up to 114 residents total, including 28 for those with Alzheimer's, and the staff can help with wheelchair transfers, nighttime help, evacuation, hospice, respite care, and more, which helps keep residents safe and supported as they age. The community's recent renovations made spaces like a game room, theater, beauty salon, art studio, and library more comfortable and pleasant, plus all the rooms are wheelchair accessible and there's a gardener's workshop, outdoor courtyard, and pet therapy programs because some folks just feel better around pets. Residents can join in all sorts of activities-games, exercise classes, reading groups, spiritual services, and community events-so it's pretty easy to find something to do or someone to talk to and the staff put a lot of focus on helping people make friends and feel like part of a big family, even bringing in family or friends when possible for meals, gatherings, or programs. Chef-prepared meals are served in a nice dining room with menus that can adjust to special diets, and there's always a beautician onsite. People who like going outside or need to get out for errands or appointments can use their transportation service, which makes things easier for everybody. Safety stays a priority, and Monarch at Richardson follows Texas rules for senior living while also offering new approaches that focus on keeping the mind and body as strong as possible, whether with memory care programming or social workshops or health monitoring and fitness. Independent living options give residents who want less help the ability to stay active with friends in modern apartments, while skilled nursing can support those who need more medical care. Monarch at Richardson doesn't promise perfection, but it does try to provide a close, caring environment with a mix of support, activities, services, and amenities so people can feel at home while staying safe, active, and connected, and the staff-who get good reviews for their compassion and skill-aim to make every day matter, no matter where someone is in their health journey.

Pleased with assisted living; cautious
I moved my mom into the Assisted Living and overall I'm very pleased: the staff are outstanding - friendly, attentive, know residents by name - the homemade meals and desserts are amazing, and the community is clean, homey and beautifully landscaped with nice activities and good family communication. The Assisted Living side offers good care, a roomy personal room, outings/therapy and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I did have concerns about Memory Care: it seemed less suited to advanced dementia (limited flexibility, some staffing gaps, a few safety/health incidents and misplaced items). Bottom line - I'd happily recommend the Assisted Living, but would be cautious about placing someone with advanced memory needs there.
