    Compassionate care, peaceful facility, reception

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased - compassionate, caring staff, a clean peaceful facility with a lovely courtyard, excellent food and many happy residents. My only complaint is reception is hard to reach (phone often unresponsive and contact info unclear); they should improve outreach and visibility.

    About Our Lady Of Providence

Our Lady Of Providence is an assisted living community in Winooski, Vermont, with room for 48 residents, and it's a nonprofit with a special spiritual focus since it's Christian-based and offers things like daily mass, a rosary group, and spiritual guidance for anyone who wants it, plus there's a strong respect for different spiritual needs so people can join in faith-based activities if they'd like. You'll find care here for daily living-staff help with things like bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication, and if residents need coordination with healthcare providers, that's handled too, all under 24-hour supervision and a call system set up in each room for safety. There are private rooms-46 of them-with private bathrooms, wheelchair-friendly setups, and some rooms have kitchenettes; there are also semi-private options and one-bedroom assisted living units if that's preferred, and rooms come fully furnished including a telephone and free Wi-Fi. Meals get prepared according to different needs, including special diets for diabetes or allergies, and meal service happens in a dining room with friends, plus there are scheduled activities during the day, resident-run events, movie nights, arts and crafts, and a garden with walking paths outside if you want some air. Housekeeping and linen services come with the stay, and there's help available with laundry, move-in arrangements, and dry cleaning. Amenities include a beauty salon, a barber, cable and satellite TV, and common spaces for visitors or to just sit and talk; there's a strong sense of community since people can join in on group events, entertainment, and spiritual reflections throughout the week. The staff provide transportation for medical appointments so families don't have to worry about how people will get where they need to go, and the community emergency alert system works to keep everyone safe in case of an emergency. There's respite care for when families need short-term stays if someone's caregiver needs a break or is away for a little while. Some unique aspects include the focus on both spiritual and mental wellness programs, support for people in wheelchairs or who can't walk, and support for broader causes like ending homelessness, animal welfare, climate change, veterans and military assistance, and LGBTQIA+ community support through donations, since they're connected to different funds and support systems in the larger community. Our Lady Of Providence is a licensed level III community, which means they cover daily living and full medical support, even hospice care if that's eventually needed. People looking for information on charity, giving, and taxes can find guidance here too, with resources for avoiding scams, as well as general help for finding top-performing charities. Donations help support residents and programs, and tours are available to see what life is like in this homelike setting that tries to meet people's spiritual, social, and daily care needs without a lot of fuss.
