Greensville Health and Rehabilitation Center sits at 214 Weaver Avenue in Emporia, VA, and has 65 licensed beds in both private and semi-private rooms-private ones run $340 a day, semi-private ones are $295 a day, and the center keeps a real focus on helping older people get back on their feet after illness or surgery, since they do both long-term care and shorter-term rehab for folks who just need a few weeks or even days before heading home, and you'll find staff on-site 24 hours a day because the skilled nursing team looks after residents at all times while doctors, therapists, and nurses all work together to make sure folks get the help they need. The center's got a full rehabilitation gym with equipment you can roll right into in a wheelchair, and the team includes speech-language pathologists for swallowing and speech problems, physical therapists for building strength and movement, and occupational therapists who help folks manage daily life again after setbacks, so if someone's coming in after a hospital stay, they'll get a plan tailored to them and the staff stand ready seven days a week with admission open at any time, day or night. Janet C. White acts as the Administrator, Dr. Mike Anderson serves as Medical Director, and Jenifer Wesson-Hite, RN, leads as Director of Nurses, so there's always leadership on hand to keep things in order, and while most rooms are shared, there are private suites for those who want them, plus the whole place follows extra safety steps, like keeping the doors locked after 7 p.m., encouraging COVID-19 vaccinations, and welcoming visitors at the front entrance weekdays from eight to five or at the back entrance evenings and weekends, and they make a point to practice enhanced barrier protections. Greensville's dual Medicare and Medicaid certification means it's open to many people, and the place saw 22,029 patient days in 2023 with about 58 full-time staff, and the focus stays on supporting seniors' health, making sure they get therapy, meals, nursing, and social support, whether someone's in for a short recovery or staying longer because they need more care over time, so all in all, it's a straightforward choice for those needing skilled nursing or rehabilitation in Emporia.

Excellent care and supportive staff
I had an excellent stay - the nurses, LPNs, CNAs and CNAs were kind, professional and genuinely caring; the staff felt like family. The PT/therapy team helped me walk again with a walker and rehab progress was real, while the activities director ran engaging social events that kept my spirits up. The facility is clean, comfortable and welcoming, dietary staff honored preferences, and admissions/D.O.N. Jackie (and Whitney) went above and beyond. There was minor negativity at the front desk, but overall the care was outstanding and I highly recommend this community.
