    Warm staff, inconsistent care, recommended

I moved my mom here and overall I'm pleased: staff are warm, attentive and visible, units are clean/bright, and activities keep residents engaged. Nursing and admin are generally helpful, but communication can be spotty, meals and med coordination inconsistent, and pricing/marketing sometimes felt deceptive. A few rooms and restrooms need updates and response times can lag, but the caring staff and friendly community make it worth touring.

About Paramount Senior Living at Manassas

Paramount Senior Living at Manassas stands over in a scenic spot surrounded by gardens and Southern-style buildings, and you'll find it's a place where folks aged 55 and older get help with things like bathing, dressing, keeping up on medicine, and eating regular, balanced meals without the fuss of cooking and cleaning, since the staff takes care of housekeeping, laundry, and trash, and serves up three meals a day with snacks and choices for every taste. The suites-private or companion-have their own kitchens, emergency call systems, and bathrooms you can get a wheelchair into, which makes things easier for those who need it, and staff are on duty around the clock, including skilled nurses you'll see handling everything from wound care to medication and therapies, and they can help people with diabetes who need insulin shots or sliding scale therapy, or folks who need two-person assistance to get from place to place.

You've got folks living there who want to stay active and social, since indoors there are common rooms for games and chats, and outside you can sit on the porch, visit the gardens, or walk the outdoor paths, and you'll also find a beauty shop right on site for haircuts and such, along with a fitness center if you're up for treadmill walks or using the bikes. There are devotional services, group events, activities every day-like outings, exercise, pet visits, music, and socials for those who like to keep busy, and you'll see that staff pay special attention to residents with memory care needs like Alzheimer's or dementia, with secured areas and programs that aim to keep people safe, engaged, and dignified. Support groups help families dealing with memory loss, and the memory care staff are specially trained in what they do, so people with memory challenges get plans that fit their needs.

The community makes it easier to stay put as needs grow-assisted living, memory care, independent living, home health care, skilled nursing, hospice care, and respite care are all available, making it possible for older adults to stay where they are, even when what they need from day to day starts to change, and this includes short stays, like when families need a break, with behavior specialists, nurses, and therapists stopping by as needed. Residents can see speech, physical, and occupational therapists, along with podiatrists and visiting nurses, all on site, and they'll help with bowel and bladder conditions so long as residents can handle some care on their own. Staff checks in with residents and families to figure out just what kind of help makes sense-mobility, hygiene, dressing, social stuff, and memory support-so the care fits the person.

People can park their cars, catch complimentary transportation, or ride along for group trips, and there's a strong sense of engagement, since the staff is known for being helpful, joyful, and kind-enough that the place earned awards for friendliness, best activities, and meals, and overall care. Smoking's only allowed in certain spots outside, and pets are included in the list of amenities, along with Wi-Fi and internet, so you're not cut off if you like to keep in touch with the world. In case of emergencies, you've got a fire system and that emergency response built into each suite, and the building's designed for easy navigation.

The approach at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas is to support people at different care levels, with about a third of residents needing heavy care, most in the middle, and some getting by with lighter help, and the community sticks to state-verified licensing, being a "verified partner" that keeps up with reviews. The community often gets good remarks, like an 8.9 score from 450 reviews, and tours are available for those interested in seeing how things run day to day or learning what options might match up for them or their families.
