    Patient, compassionate care and hospitality

I couldn't be happier with this home. Winnie and the kind, attentive staff treat my dad like family - patient, medically vigilant caregivers in a clean, beautifully decorated, peaceful home with excellent nursing, great food, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend them for real peace of mind.

    About IRA Adult Family Home

IRA Adult Family Home sits at 301 South Hamlin Drive in Arlington, Washington, and brings a quiet, private setting with licensed beds for six residents, run by nurses and EMTs who live on-site and care for folks themselves, so you'll find a small, home-like feel every day, with both private rooms and plenty of touches to make people comfortable, like air conditioning, private patios, an emergency call button in the home, fast WiFi, cable TV, and homecooked meals served in a family-style way. The house is made for seniors who need all kinds of help, whether they live mostly on their own or need full nursing care after an illness, surgery, or long hospital stay, so someone might come in for assisted living to get a hand with daily activities, while another might need skilled nursing or memory care with things like bathing, medication, feeding tube help, wound care, or oxygen therapy, and the nurses on staff have years of experience with falls, dementia, diabetes, Parkinson's, depression, mental health, behavior issues, and end-of-life needs like hospice, which means there's always someone qualified around who can answer health questions, check on changes, or talk to a doctor if something's off.

Residents who live with Alzheimer's or dementia have security, a fenced yard, alarms for exit-seeking, a fall prevention program, and a calendar of memory-enhancing activities, whether it's bingo, crafts, singing, gardening, music therapy, or exercise classes, plus religious activities like Bible study or church visits if someone wants, so the daily life balances safety with personal choice and comfort, always with a caregiver nearby since they keep a low 1-to-2 staff ratio. The house also takes care of specialized medical needs like insulin shots, trach or colostomy care, G-tube and feeding tube management, oxygen, stroke recovery, post-surgery care, and even dialysis support, with frequent help from outside nurses, therapists, or home health workers if more special therapy or help is needed, so medical care goes along naturally with regular daily living. Seniors also get meals cooked at home with special diets if needed, regular housecleaning, laundry, pharmacy drop off, bathing, and medication management, while families get regular updates, can bring visiting pets, and come by for tours most of the day, and the house sits close to a hospital if anything serious ever comes up.

Owners Winnie Bertrand, her husband, and their staff keep the house spotless, peaceful, and cheery, focusing on being kind, loving, and gentle with all residents, and people get to keep their privacy while still joining activities, sharing movie nights, or sitting out on the patio, so the home feels relaxed and personal, never rushed or crowded, and residents come to feel the house as their own home, with their routines, hobbies, and faith respected. IRA Adult Family Home gets regular inspections, stays up to date on its licensing, and lists under Adult Family Homes with licensed care levels, covering light to heavy needs, in a clean, safe neighborhood, and cares for up to six seniors who want quiet, steady care in a family-like community.
