    Caring staff, clean community, satisfied

I placed my dad here and couldn't be happier. The staff are caring, professional, and knowledgeable-always going above and beyond-while the community is clean, home-like, and well maintained. He's more active and social, loves the meals and activities, and we're very satisfied with his care. Highly recommended.

    About Homestead Place

Homestead Place sits in Grandview, WA and stands out for offering different levels of care from independent living all the way up to full medical and memory care services, so seniors can stay in the same place even as their needs change, and you'll see everything from folks who come and go on their own to those who need heavy support for health or memory issues. Caregivers are around day and night to help with daily things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, and getting around, and there's always someone nearby if something comes up, especially important for residents who have Alzheimer's or other memory problems since the staff get special training and there are always programs and quiet activities that help reduce confusion and keep people active safely. For residents with diabetes, the team can handle things like insulin shots and sliding scale therapy, and for those who need special help, whether it's two people needed for a transfer, wound care, or reminders to use the restroom, the staff knows what to do and take your health seriously.

Meals are provided every day, with options for kosher or vegetarian diets and menus for folks who have allergies or diabetes, and the dining room serves food all day in a restaurant-style setting. You can eat in with others, or enjoy the privacy of your own apartment, which could be a studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or semi-private space, and you can bring your own things to decorate and feel at home. Residents don't have to worry about chores since housekeeping, laundry, and even dry cleaning is handled, and every apartment has a telephone. Both pets and people are welcome, so you'll see cats and dogs living here, and friends or family can visit every day during regular hours. The place is wheelchair-friendly, has showers that are easy to get into, and offers transportation and parking, with nearby bus lines if you want to get out and about.

There's a good mix of activities, whether you like lively things like live music, crafts, or exercise sessions, or slower moments like board games and movie nights, and the teams run outings and holiday celebrations plus family get-togethers, and residents can help plan and run their own activities. Indoors, you'll find gathering rooms, a salon and barber for haircuts or grooming, arts and crafts spaces, and even a courtyard and walking paths if you like being outside. Special programs help people with memory trouble feel safe and comfortable because areas are secured and staffed by trained workers who know how to give gentle reminders or handle wandering.

Homestead Place charges a community fee and a daily respite fee, but there's no big buy-in cost. You can pay privately or use things like veterans' benefits, Social Security, and private insurance. Staff are trained in nursing and home care, and you always have someone there to help, no matter the hour. They help with bathing, dressing, and anything you need to keep your dignity. Homestead Place tries to keep a warm, friendly feel where people are treated like family, and there's a focus on letting you make your own choices for as long as possible. For people needing short-term care, there's adult day care and respite, so family caregivers can take a break. The facility aims to keep seniors healthy, safe, and enjoying life, whether that means joining in a group event, relaxing in the garden, or just sitting with a neighbor in the shared living areas.
