NorthCare Kennewick sits at 3321 West 10th Avenue in Kennewick, Washington, with 28 licensed beds as an assisted living facility that doesn't accept Medicare or Medicaid, and the place is best for seniors who need help with daily life but don't require a lot of medical care, and it's operated locally with a home-like feel, so the staff help residents with things like getting dressed, eating, bathing, and taking their medicine on time, and the building's always air-conditioned, smoke-free, and offers meals with healthy options, and there's an activity program to help people stay active and engaged through group and solo activities, plus there's 24-hour care every day of the week for anyone living with memory problems like Alzheimer's or dementia, and trained caregivers are always nearby to offer reminders, help tidy up, and take care of basic needs, and people can pay with credit cards, the parking lot has room if families visit, and NorthCare Kennewick has several locations in Washington and Montana, so the facility has a peaceful and comfortable environment with a no smoking policy, and government licensing comes from local agencies like the Department of Aging with oversight making sure care standards are met, and NorthCare Kennewick is connected with Options for Seniors to help people find the right kind of help, and families can ask about respite care for short stays if family caregivers need relief, but nobody pays with Medicare and the place isn't certified by CMS, so the focus stays mostly on helping seniors live their day with dignity, a little bit of privacy, and staff who treat them kindly each day.
Home-like care but safety concerns
I'm torn. Parts of this place are wonderful - home-like, clean, private suites, caring and highly trained caregivers, thoughtful management and good communication that eased my burden. But I also saw chronic understaffing, undertraining, missed medications, few activities, unlocked doors, slow emergency response and troubling neglect/abuse reports; unprofessional administration seemed more focused on money. My family ultimately moved out because of those lapses - visit in person and ask hard questions before deciding.
