    Caring, family-like memory care home

I live here and couldn't be happier. The staff are deeply caring, professional, and treat residents with dignity-it's a true family-like, Greenhouse-style home. Memory care is first-rate, residents are engaged in meaningful activities, and there's always music, laughter, and genuine connection. The building is beautiful, clean, ranch-style and accessible with private rooms/bathrooms, on-site nurse, salon, dining, and safe outdoor space. Families are welcomed, residents feel valued, and I highly recommend it for assisted living or memory care.

About The Village - a Mustard Seed Project

The Village - a Mustard Seed Project sits on a forested hillside on the Key Peninsula in western Washington, with views of the town and the Olympic mountains, and you can walk to shops and services, which is handy when you don't want to drive. The Village is part of a non-profit focused on seniors living better lives, and it offers assisted living, memory care, and ways for people to stay independent longer. The building is just one story, and it's really three smaller homes all joined under a single long roof, each home having 10 bedrooms with private baths and kitchenettes, and these bedrooms gather around warm open hearth areas, so there's always company nearby and you don't have to feel alone if you don't want to. The Village has 30 studio apartments for seniors, and the community spaces are used for meals, activities, support groups, and classes, while the on-site café stays open weekdays from 11 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon, which gives everyone a spot to sit and eat together or meet neighbors for coffee.

This place is the first assisted living project in the area, and it tries to keep folks comfortable for the long haul with help like meals, laundry, housekeeping, and management of medicine handled by caregivers who actually know the residents. The staff don't wear uniforms and you won't find PA systems or big medication carts rolling down the halls, so things feel homey and calm instead of like some big busy institution. Doctors, like Dr. William Roes, come by for visits, and there's even someone for on-site hairdressing, so you don't have to leave for those things. The Village is run by Concepts in Community Living and owned by the Mustard Seed Project of Key Peninsula. They try to support not just basic needs but also offer transportation help, information and referrals, programs for health and wellness, and even nutrition support, all to help people age in place as comfortably as possible. You'll find a gathering space for social and spiritual activities, and the facility is licensed as an assisted living facility. While there's a lot offered here, it's all built on the idea of people helping each other and living as independently as they can for as long as they can, and everyone's care gets tailored to what they need at different times of life.
