Grace Garden Adult Family Home sits at 9029 Carol Ave S in Lakewood, WA, and holds a Washington license #752395, offering six licensed beds for seniors who want a quiet, comfortable home-like setting instead of a big building, so folks can relax and age in place whether they need independent living, assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or help with short-term stays or respite care. They don't accept Medicaid and don't take Medicare unless they've got that special certification, and you'll find they offer all the regular daily help like bathing, dressing, meals, and incontinence care, with caregivers around day and night and a staff-to-resident ratio of one to six. The place is set up for safety, so there's an emergency call button system, ADA compliant private bathrooms, good lighting, and everything's wheelchair and walker accessible, and they'll help keep track of medications, blood sugar, and even provide diabetes management and wound care if needed. Studio suites come private but you still get to enjoy shared living spaces, and folks bring their favorite furniture and decorations to make rooms their own, while meals come fresh every day, served restaurant-style in a dining room, with special diets, vegetarian options, and even room service if someone is sick or would rather eat quiet. Residents who want to keep moving can use the exercise section or try fall prevention classes, and they're always running things like Dakim BrainFitness programs, bingo, arts & crafts, music, movie nights in their own theatre room, parties for holidays or birthdays, and group trips to parks, stores, or restaurants, plus the library's there to grab a good book and there are gardens and even a smoking area outside. Grace Garden works with special needs like Alzheimer's, dementia, developmental disabilities, diabetes, mental health concerns, traumatic brain injuries, and even those who need total care for physical disabilities, offering hospice and end-of-life care when families need support most, and partnering with therapy folks for physical, occupational, or speech therapy right at home, even helping with pharmacy and doctor visits, plus transportation to clinics or hospitals, and they take care of laundry and housekeeping so nobody has to fuss with chores. Pets are welcome and sometimes pet therapy visits happen to cheer folks up, and you'll spot extras like a beauty shop, free internet, cable or satellite TV, and transportation help, while the dining hall and private living areas stay air-conditioned and calm. Grace Garden hosts family meetings, listens to requests for unscheduled help or room service, welcomes visitors from 9:00am to 8:00pm, and keeps the place running with daily health screenings, fall prevention, movement help, and support for those with low mobility or special medical needs like catheters or oxygen. They try to build a calm, respectful environment with a focus on each person's needs and choices, with various activity programs, religious services on and offsite, and a rating of about 4.4 out of 5 from reviews that mention the high building quality and friendly support from all staff, so families get a bit more peace of mind.

Friendly staff, clean but quiet
I live here and overall I'm satisfied. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful - an outstanding advisor and a nurse are available when needed. Insurance (United Health Care, Molina) is accepted and care, including hospice, has been excellent, so I feel confident about the clinical side. The place is spotless and orderly (almost sterile); my room is small but adequate, there's an outside patio, it's handicap-accessible, and costs are reasonable. My main complaints: it's too quiet and not very homey with little resident activity, and the hallways are cramped with uneven floors - a potential safety issue.
