    About Bay Road Place

Bay Road Place sits on five acres near Lake Michigan, so there's some nice open space for walks and being outside, and it's in a quiet setting that's more rural than busy, which a lot of folks like for the peace and calm. The facility is family-owned and can house up to 25 residents in a medium-sized community-based residential facility, also called a CBRF, that holds Wisconsin license number 8556. They've got both assisted living and a separate memory care building with a secure area for people with Alzheimer's, dementia, or behavior problems, making sure those who wander or have tough days stay safe with alarms, locked doors, and staff watching round the clock. The memory care section uses technology like bracelets that ring alarms if someone tries to wander, and keeps a tight focus on keeping folks engaged with daily activities and entertainment fit for people struggling with their memory.

Staff at Bay Road Place, including registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, stay awake and alert 24/7 to handle care, transfer help, medications, complex treatments, blood sugar checks, and sliding scale insulin therapy. They handle most day-to-day support, like bathing, dressing, hygiene, toileting, medication reminders, and even two-person or standby assistance for heavier lifts or wheelchair transfers. Staff will support meals and personal tasks, with nutritious, on-site prepared food, and they can do special diets for folks with diabetes or high blood pressure if the need comes up, all while providing three chef-prepared meals every day.

Residents have access to a wide spread of activities, both scheduled and casual, including things like music treatment, pet therapy visits, fitness and wellness routines, arts and crafts, games, book rooms, and movie times. Social events run in the evenings, and there's space set aside for community gatherings or religious services held offsite for those who want them. There's a hair salon on site, jacuzzi, sauna, workout room, and even manicure and pedicure services, which is nice for those who want to keep up with grooming without leaving home. Residents can enjoy gardens and outdoor spaces, and people who like to smoke can use designated outdoor areas.

Rooms have private bathrooms, individually controlled heat and air, and most are set up like a studio apartment, with monthly rates starting at $2,750. Each comes with its own locked entrance and a phone jack, and the buildings have indoor common areas with fresh paint and new furniture that keep things clean and homey. The dining room is laid out more like a regular home's dining area, which helps the space feel relaxing and familiar. The staff helps with daily housekeeping, laundry, linen changes, and offers free transportation for errands, appointments, and shopping. The place is wheelchair accessible, including the showers and common areas, and has in-house call systems for help at any time.

Bay Road Place won't allow pets, but staff go out of their way to make the place cheerful, helpful, and welcoming, and they have an open-door policy for families and friends. Residents need to be at least 60 years old, and the staff is trained to handle a range of care needs, including memory problems, physical limitations, monitoring blood sugar, and providing care during the final stages of life with hospice available. There are individual care plans so each person gets the help they need, and the facility can adjust care levels so residents don't have to move again if their health changes. People can stay for short-term respite too, which is a help for families just needing a couple weeks of care.

Everything aims to support independence, dignity, and daily well-being for seniors, with plenty of activities to keep people physically, mentally, and socially active. Staff stay friendly, supportive, and always present, working to make sure the place feels safe and comfortable, where people can enjoy their days without too much worry.
