    Compassionate staff and excellent care

I moved my parent here and have been very pleased: staff are compassionate, attentive, and know residents by name - they treat people like family. The community is beautiful, spotless, and homey with peaceful outdoor spaces; food is nutritious and delicious and activities are varied and engaging. Leadership communicates proactively and it feels safe and well run. A few people note occasional staff turnover, memory-care staffing bumps, and higher cost, but our experience has been excellent.

About The Classic at Hillcrest Greens

The Classic at Hillcrest Greens sits in a modern, multi-story building and serves people aged 55 and older, with 99 apartments-63 for independent or assisted living, and 36 for memory care residents who need extra help. The community offers four tiers of healthcare, from seven to 28 hours a week, so people can have just the support they need and stay as their health changes. The memory care section has its own building with a separate entrance, secure courtyard, and plenty of features to help people with Alzheimer's or dementia avoid confusion and wandering, like bracelets that alert staff if someone tries to leave. Staff, including nurses and care assistants, are on site 24/7, and a dedicated concierge and full-time activity director keep things running smoothly with structured programs every day.

Vegetarian and vegan meal options are available, along with chef-prepared dishes for various diets, including low sodium or low sugar, and meals get served in an elegant dining room with white linens, a stone fireplace, and centerpieces, though there's also a bistro, a café with treats, and room service if you want to eat privately. The community allows cats and dogs and offers indoor and outdoor common areas, including patios, landscaped gardens, and even a putting green, which means you see a good bit of green space and can enjoy the outdoors as you like. Recreation includes art, yoga, fitness with recumbent bikes, movie nights in a theater room with big recliners, karaoke, Wii bowling, gardening clubs, wine tasting, and ongoing opportunities for outings using the on-site transportation or resident parking. There's also a well-stocked store, salon, spa, chapel, library lounge, and exercise studio, so days can be as full as you want.

Hillcrest Greens is RCAC and CBRF certified and part of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association, which means it follows state guidelines, and because it's managed by Ecumen, people say staff are attentive and treat everyone like family. Medical services cover medication help, diabetes care, bowel and bladder care, and people who need help with daily living, like getting dressed, bathing, or using the bathroom, can get just as much help or privacy as fits them best. The memory care area specializes in helping people who may wander or have strong behaviors, and there's extra security and staff training so everyone is as safe as possible. Apartments include things like handicap accessibility, walk-in showers, full kitchens, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and ground-floor units for easy movement. Throughout the year, residents can take part in happy hours, Senior Proms, mingling sessions, classes, devotional services, and intergenerational programs, with activities aimed to support wellness, social life, and even spiritual life. The Classic offers light housekeeping, laundry, and even short-term or respite care or hospice help when needed, and some nurses and therapists are on hand for those needing physical rehabilitation after illness or injury. The community is known for staying clean, having plenty of natural light, and keeping up communication with residents and families.

With a mix of independence, safety, and many options for food, recreation, and healthcare, The Classic at Hillcrest Greens fits people who want active, supportive living with the option for more help as time goes on.
