    About Endeavors Adult Development Center

Endeavors Adult Development Center sits in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, and has been serving adults with disabilities since 1965, changing its name in 2010, and operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a Wisconsin license (#9385) and Adult Day Care certification (#0013651). The facility has 19 assisted living units, each with many closets and well-equipped studio spaces, some even have furnished rooms, and pull cords for help if needed. The grounds are safe and secure, featuring walking trails, a garden, and walking paths for those who like spending time outside, with everything set up for wheelchair access and people who need low mobility support. Staff help with dressing, bathing, feeding by spoon when needed, medication management, and moving from place to place, and they know how to care for people living with Parkinson's and other serious memory concerns like dementia and Alzheimer's.

Endeavors runs dedicated programs such as the Day Friends Program for people with advanced aging and memory issues, as well as the Day Services Program, which encourages personal growth and living skills among adults with significant disabilities, and there's a Prevocational Services Program that helps people learn job skills and gain work experience-with the Center having partnerships for community job placements and even helping businesses claim tax credits. The facility is one of only forty-nine Certified Community Rehabilitation Programs in Wisconsin and gets some funding from the Federal Transit Administration, which helps support an extensive transportation service that delivers daily round-trips for up to 60 participants, offers one-way or door-to-door rides, uses wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and spends over $150,000 a year to keep residents and program participants involved in community jobs and activities around Polk County.

Inside, there's a games room for cards and bingo, a snack shop, a theater, a resident dining hall, and a space for holiday parties, while chef-prepared meals and scheduled dining-with accommodations for different dietary needs like allergies and diabetes-keep residents well-fed and healthy. There's 24-hour supervision, emergency alert systems, laundry, linen and housekeeping services, and full home maintenance so people don't have to worry about chores, and move-in support helps make transitions easier. For personal well-being, Endeavors provides massage therapy, routine health checks, and helps with fall prevention. Staff use personalized support, adapting to different needs, working to improve memory, independence, and quality of life for each resident, and there's a strong focus on not making cognitive decline the center of a resident's daily routine, but rather encouraging social engagement, community activities, and mental stimulation like computer and technology classes.

Pet-friendly policies mean residents can have animals, and family can visit and join in on community events throughout the year. The Center uses concierge services for special requests, and all routines and amenities-from prevocational training to recreational activities-seek to help people experience a fulfilling life. English is spoken, along with other languages, and supervision comes from licensed staff to ensure safety. The Board and Care Home model used here works well for small groups in a neighborhood setting, with both assisted living and memory care services available, as well as respite care for families needing a short-term break for their loved ones with memory loss. Everything from janitorial services, move-in coordination, supervised work crews, diabetic management, and regular doctor assessments is available, and Endeavors Adult Development Center tries its best to make sure every person, no matter their ability, feels supported, respected, and able to participate as much as possible in the community.
