    Dated facility, inconsistent care, pricey

I had a mostly negative experience. Staff were friendly, helpful and listened, and the grounds and interiors were clean in a nice location, but the building is dated and needs TLC - some staff were rude and monitoring felt neglectful (I even saw medications left unsecured on an open shelf). Meal options and services were limited; it's a smaller, less-updated place and more expensive than it should be.

    About Greenbriar

Greenbriar offers a variety of living and care solutions for seniors, helping folks as their needs change, so you can stay put even if life throws some curveballs as you get older. The place has assisted living services and a separate Memory Care building for people who need extra support because of memory problems like Alzheimer's. Greenbriar allows residents to have cats, and they have both studio and one-bedroom apartments, with some semi-private and single room options, along with private apartments if that's what you prefer. The facility has full tubs in the bathrooms, cable or satellite TV, and Wi-Fi in the rooms, so daily life feels more like home. Meals are provided and planned by chefs or meal planners, so you don't have to worry about cooking, and they set up social dining, which means you get to eat with others unless you'd rather not.

You'll find indoor and outdoor common areas for socializing, leisure, and gatherings, plus shared recreational spaces where you might run into your neighbors playing Bingo, Cards, Trivia, Crafts, or even Movie Mondays and Wii Bowling. The calendar's usually full, with structured activities, educational programs, and outings, and if you'd like, you can go to offsite devotional services or use adult day programs. For those who want help with daily living activities, Greenbriar's staff is on hand all the time to help with things like bathing, transferring from bed to wheelchair, or managing medication, whether you need light or medium care. The nursing team helps with diabetes, incontinence, non-ambulatory care, and standby help if needed.

Greenbriar welcomes short-term and respite stays too, useful if you only need a place for a little while. The community's got its own beauty and barber shop, offering beautician services right on-site. There's resident parking if you still drive and need a spot, plus storage for your things, and transportation, either at an extra cost or sometimes complimentary, if you need a ride to appointments or shopping, and it's convenient to the busline if you want to get around that way. Greenbriar lets folks smoke outdoors and makes sure every room has an emergency call system in case something happens suddenly.

Greenbriar helps retirees who want some in-home assistance in a safe and supportive place. The facility is family-owned and licensed by the State, and has a simple, all-inclusive pricing structure. There are some special programs, too, like the Lighthouse halfway houses for men and women who need longer recovery or support, with individual and group therapy to back up people who are working through addiction. So, Greenbriar focuses on being steady and flexible, making it possible for older people to stay as their needs shift, and making sure there's help ready if you start needing more support.
