    Friendly staff older facility lacking

The staff here are wonderful - understanding, informative, and they make this a great place overall. My room is just okay, but the facility is older and unkept, and there's no regular cook, housekeeper, or activity director.

    About Wellington Meadows

Wellington Meadows sits on five acres close to the Rock River, surrounded by tall trees and green lawns, so there's plenty of nature to enjoy when family comes to visit or folks want to spend a little time outdoors, and the building itself is fully sprinklered for fire safety and has enhanced security at the front door, plus emergency call systems in every room. The facility has 28 licensed beds in a mix of private and companion suites, each with its own bathroom, a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave, a living space, and big windows looking outside, so every resident gets a bit of independence and comfort whether they're on their own or sharing a room. Folks use wheelchairs or need a little help with moving around will find the place accessible throughout, and there's controlled entry for safety, with staff on duty at all times.

There's a welcoming lobby with a fireplace, a library with plenty of books, indoor and outdoor common areas, a private dining room as well as a bigger shared eating area, and even a salon and barbershop where residents can get their hair done. All-day dining and three meals are cooked fresh every day, with snacks always available, and menus can be adjusted for dietary needs, like if someone's diabetic or has allergies, and vegetarian choices are offered. Residents get housekeeping, laundry and linen service, and can request meal or guest meal delivery to their rooms, which makes things easier for everyone.

Families can visit anytime, as there's always-open visitation, and Wellington Meadows works to foster a homelike feeling by encouraging participation in daily life and activities, so residents can join in on community events, arts and crafts, movie nights, book clubs, games, hobbies, field trips, and devotional gatherings, or enjoy quiet time in shared or private spaces. The grounds have gardens, walking paths, and a patio, and there's parking for residents and transportation for trips to stores or appointments, available for a fee if extra help is needed.

Residents get care around the clock, with Registered Nurses and care staff always available to help with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing, medication management, eating, toileting, reminders, or transferring. There are specialized programs for memory care, including dementia and Alzheimer's support, plus board and care services and a plan of care tailored for each person, with communication to family doctors. The place also takes short-term respite stays, has hospice waiver options, and offers skilled nursing and rehabilitation if someone needs therapy or support after an illness or hospital stay. Staff is recognized for being friendly and helpful, and there's a sense of kindness and support you notice among residents, visitors, and workers, which means people feel like they're in good company whether staying for a short while or calling Wellington Meadows home for longer. The nonprofit requires proof of savings for a two-year stay, accepts insurance for payments, and keeps business hours between 8 am and 5 pm on weekdays, plus quiet hours overnight from 8 pm to 8 am. Pets aren't allowed, but folks can expect comfortable spaces, helpful services, and a stable, caring environment day in, day out.
