    About Arc House

Arc House is a 15-bed residential treatment center in Wisconsin, mostly serving adult women and young adults from ages 18 to 64 who come through the Department of Corrections, and you'll find that this place allows smoking in certain areas. The center focuses on helping women with substance use disorders, mental health issues, and trauma, and really tries to keep things calm and supportive, so women can work on their recovery without too many outside triggers. The staff provide 24-hour care and use all sorts of approaches, like individual and group counseling, family therapy, case management, substance use education, anger management, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma counseling, and if someone's prescribed medication for addiction, they can keep using what their doctor gives them.

Arc House treats both substance use and mental health conditions, and offers detox for alcohol, opioids, meth, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and prescription drugs, though it doesn't have in-home or virtual care. Folks get screened and assessed for both mental and substance use disorders, and the counselors help with relapse prevention, discharge planning, transportation, employment help, social skills, even mentoring. For women who are pregnant or have young children, staff provide childcare and work to help mothers keep close bonds with their kids during treatment, which keeps families more stable. The place works under a homelike setting with structured routines, uses the relational model (so women help each other and connect with family and community networks), and they're careful to avoid retraumatizing anyone.

Arc House accepts many payment types like Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, a sliding fee scale, and even payment help, and most women are referred by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, which also funds a lot of the services, so most programs are at no cost to the woman. The facility does offer specialized programs for survivors of human trafficking or exploitation, those living with HIV, veterans, LGBT clients, people with developmental disabilities (I/DD), and women involved in the court system. Women can stay 30, 60, or 90 days, sometimes up to a year, and after discharge, staff help with aftercare planning so women have support once they move on. The site provides recovery homes, housing help, domestic violence services, case management, and follow-up. You'll see group and individual counseling, holistic therapies like yoga, meditation, or art, support for those on opioid medications, and education in health, even support in quitting smoking or vaping. There's access to drug testing, sober living help, and intensive rehab programs, and they'll offer transportation help and connect women with needed services in the community, treating each one with respect and aiming to help women feel safe and regain their self-worth. Founded in 1976, Arc House is licensed and certified by the state and uses community corrections programming. The main goal's always been recovery in a safe, structured, and supportive setting, and everything about their setup-from its care models to its focus on relationships-shows the place has been built up to meet the needs of women in difficult situations, offering them dignity, structure, and hope.
