    Caring staff, clean, pricey, inconsistent

I placed my mother here and overall I'm pleased - the staff are caring and responsive, the facility is clean and secure, and there are plenty of activities; the food and staffing consistency can be uneven and the cost is on the high side. If you want it tailored to specific highlights, send them and I'll revise.

About Washington Square Assisted Living Community

Washington Square Assisted Living Community sits one block off the Menominee River on a quiet street in Marinette, Wisconsin, at 2502 Taylor Street, and there's 16 apartments designed for seniors who want privacy but still need care, so you'll find folks in apartments with washer, dryer, and kitchenettes, and other residents in communal living setups, but everyone has access to safety features like emergency alert systems, keypad entry, and 24-hour supervision from on-site licensed nurses and trained staff. The caregivers offer help with daily tasks-things like bathing, dressing, meals, medication, and transfers in or out of bed or a wheelchair-and they've got special training for dementia, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's, making sure everyone who needs more support gets it without fuss. You see rehabilitative services on-site, too, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and there's coordination with doctors to keep medical care organized, with medication management, scheduled check-ups by a registered nurse each month, and preventive health screenings done regularly, and move-in help for those transitioning in.

Residents can take part in community-sponsored activities like crafts, games, outings, movie nights, and creative arts, or enjoy computer sections, a movie room, and a Wellness Center, and there are group trips off-site, friendly visiting hours, and optional concierge services for folks who want a little extra help. Walking paths, patios, and gardens let people spend time outdoors, and the dining room offers meals for all sorts of dietary needs-special diets for allergies or diabetes, with all-day dining and scheduled meals. Housekeeping and laundry-including dry cleaning-come standard, with staff handling room upkeep, and the grounds feature unique touches like wrought iron light fixtures and a wood ceiling in the great room, aiming for a warm, homey environment with soft finishing touches that bring a sense of comfort. High staff-to-resident ratios and customizable care let services adapt as needs change, and you'll often see community spaces busy, making it easy to mingle or just enjoy a little quiet in a safe, familiar place, all near parks, shopping, and the public library, giving folks a chance to stay active and social if they'd like.
