    About Companion Day Services

Companion Day Services sits at 905 Tiny Tigers Ct. in Marshfield as part of the Tiny Tiger Intergenerational Center, where older adults and young children spend their days in the same building. This center is the only Intergenerational Care Center in the area, so older adults get daily chances to build meaningful relationships with people of all ages, whether they're making crafts with kids, spending time in the companion room playing games, or doing group activities like music therapy and light exercise. The program runs Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., so people can come for a full day of activities and social engagement. This place handles all sorts of needs, from just wanting companionship to having more serious concerns with dementia or memory loss, so the staff there know how to help folks with cognitive decline, including those recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, and there's care for adults with disabilities, too.

You won't find the place fancy, but it feels homelike, with places to walk outside on paths, a small garden, and spaces for arts and crafts. There's a dining room where you can eat throughout the day, and the kitchen staff make meals and snacks for different diets, including allergies and diabetes. Volunteers often show up to help serve lunch or guide walks, and sometimes residents themselves help lead activities or movie nights. The center supports freedom of movement but makes safety and security a big focus, with continuous supervision, 24-hour call systems, emergency alerts, and all services needed for dressing, bathing, medication, and helping people who can't walk on their own. Memory care is a big focus, including specialized activities for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, and they help residents keep their skills and independence as much as they're able.

Companion Day Services offers transportation and parking, and their space includes a small salon/barber, laundry and housekeeping, furnished rooms, and plenty of room for scheduled group events. People living alone at home, or with a caregiver, can come during the day for support, care, or just someone to talk to, and everyone has an individual plan of care based on what they need and what they can still do. There are always planned social activities, and there's an effort to keep everyone engaged, whether that means doing activities in the arts room, being part of group therapy, or helping kids with crafts. The staff try to keep a warm environment with lots of companionship, and there's help for those who need hospice waivers or more specialized dementia support. The place tries to give people extra help during tough chapters of life, whether they're struggling with memory, feeling lonely, or recovering from something. Each day is structured, with lots of chances for socializing and personal care in a place where all ages spend time together under one roof.
