    About Attic Angel

Attic Angel sits at 8301 Old Sauk Road in Middleton, Wisconsin, and has been part of the area since 1889, which makes it one of Madison's oldest nonprofits serving both seniors and children across Dane County, and people often call it the city's most iconic philanthropic group since it's spent 135 years helping folks. You'll find a range of living options there since they have Attic Angel Prairie Point, with 123 ranch-style homes for independent living, and Attic Angel Place, which offers apartments for independent or assisted living, as well as memory care and short-term recuperative suites, so people can move between different care levels as their needs change without having to leave the campus, which a lot of people appreciate as they get older and want to stay in one spot. This is a smoke-free and pet-friendly place, and the monthly service fee covers home and yard maintenance, neighborhood security, along with programming and activities, and there's always wellness, life enrichment, and dining programs to keep people active, like enrichment classes, social events, happy hour, and even dining credits for use at the restaurant-style dining area where folks can request vegetarian, gluten-free, low sodium, and other special meal options if needed, one thing people talk about is the pond area which is a nice quiet spot not far from shopping or restaurants in the area. There are over 20 floor plans for the ranch homes, with sizes from 1,375 to 2,300 square feet, and features like attached garages, private entries, two or three bedrooms, and full basements, while the apartments come with air conditioning, full kitchens, wheelchair access, ground floor units, and options for private or semi-private rooms, plus guest suites for family visits. If someone needs extra help, the care services include medication management, diabetic care, incontinence care, high acuity care, non-ambulatory support, respite and hospice care, along with an over 30-bed memory care area called The Haven. Attic Angel is known for a big network of volunteers called the Angels, many of whom are well-educated in senior issues, and it has always put a focus on both doing good in the community and running community grants and fundraising sales events, so they pass money raised from sales of gently used stuff on to local kids and seniors, and they really do have a long volunteering tradition, which dates all the way back to their start. People who live at Attic Angel Place or Prairie Point can set up their own in-home care if they're independent, and they can access all the campus programs no matter which unit they live in, and residents generally get priority access to other parts of the community if they need more help later on. There's a life lease program for ranch-style homes, too, with units priced from $375,000 to $750,000 and a return when the lease ends. The community opens its doors for tours every Wednesday and Sunday, and the Attic Angel website has options to schedule visits or see open houses. There are also ongoing education events, a variety of volunteer opportunities through Angel Membership, online scheduling for members, and a management team led by the president of Attic Angel Community. When you look at Attic Angel, you see a long-standing, local place where people can move in at different stages, stay involved through programs and volunteering, and live close to all sorts of places in Madison, all while being part of a nonprofit with a long tradition of helping neighbors.
