    Welcoming community, great food, concerns

I'm very happy with this clean, welcoming community - caring, friendly and responsive staff, excellent/delicious food, roomy apartments (bring your furniture, large walk-in showers), lovely grounds and abundant activities and outings; I would recommend. My only concerns are occasional staffing lapses, an unhelpful manager and a past oxygen-supply/attention-to-detail incident that suggests end-of-life care can be only adequate.

    About North Crest Assisted Living

North Crest Assisted Living sits on a single story and offers different kinds of care for seniors, like independent living, assisted living, memory care for those with dementia, and even hospice services for those who need them, and you'll find 27 beds so residents can choose cozy private spaces, including studios and maybe some with kitchenettes, and you'll notice the community average rating sits high at 9.5 out of 10, which folks seem to appreciate. The place belongs to the Copperleaf Senior Living network and offers transportation services for seniors who need to get to appointments or want to go out for errands, and you'll also find laundry and housekeeping services, which mean less to worry about if you don't feel up to chores. The dining room serves all-day, restaurant-style meals, and you can ask for meals that fit special diets like gluten-free, diabetic, vegetarian, vegan, no sugar, kosher, and even guest meals, and they've thought of folks with allergies too.

The facility pays a lot of attention to safety, so you'll find medical alert systems-like Bay Alarm Medical, Medical Guardian, and ADT Medical Alert-as well as advanced home security and medication dispensers, so caregivers and residents can both feel secure. They use an emergency alert call system and have 24-hour supervision, and you can find telephones in resident rooms for staying in touch. North Crest helps with daily needs like bathing, dressing, medication management, and transfers, and provides care for people with mild cognitive impairment, including memory care services with specialized programs and secure outdoor areas for those who might wander. If you need short-term or respite stays, you can arrange those too.

Community life comes with plenty of chances for socializing, as there's a community room, a lounge, and a TV room, plus a library and an arts room for hobbies or quiet time. You might sit in the garden or stroll along the scenic paths, and if you like performances or music, there's even a piano or organ available. There's a beauty salon, barber, and on-site housekeeping and laundry so you don't have to worry about those tasks. The facility allows pets, welcomes visitors, and holds engaging activities, live theater or dance shows, and fitness and well-being programs tailored for seniors, including those aiming for holistic health.

North Crest Assisted Living supports a variety of housing options like senior apartments, condos, and townhomes, and rooms come furnished, with wheelchair accessible showers for those who need them. They cover several types of care-including diabetic, incontinence, non-ambulatory, companion care, dementia care, and even dementia waiver programs for folks who qualify. Move-in help's available, and the staff's prepared for crisis communications, legal support, and offers education benefits and training through Herzing University Tuition Reduction and WALA programs. Residents and families engage through email or the WALA Connections platform, and North Crest participates in programs like the Diamond Program and runs caregiver training.

The community focuses on a balance of independence, support, and social connection, making things easier on residents by taking care of daily chores, providing health and safety features, nutrition, and a friendly, home-like place to age well, and at the same time, aiming to let seniors stay active and independent as long as possible.
