    Moved in, left after three

I moved in and left after three days - the staff were extremely rude and residents were treated horribly. I walked out; stay away.

    About Whistling Pines

Whistling Pines sits at 121 County Rd QQ Building K in Waupaca, WI, and has 12 assisted living units where folks can get the help they need in a close-knit, home-like place, and people can use financial help from programs like COP or Family Care through their local Aging & Disability Resource Center; you'll run into up-front costs like security deposits or entrance fees, and there's more than one way to pay with both all-inclusive and a la carte pricing, plus some modified fee programs for different budgets. The spot has several kinds of rooms and buildings, with options for private apartments in newer buildings and even some renovated houses, and residents can personalize their space with their own furniture and decorations if they want, making it feel a bit like home, and there's always some staff around to help out, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, because some people need just a bit of help with things like getting dressed, baths, laundry, meals, cleaning, and taking medicine, and there's also short-term respite care in case someone's regular caregiver needs a break for a while. For those living with memory problems-like Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia-there are special memory care units, locked and designed to keep people safe, with both programs and activities focused on memory, and Whistling Pines has different licenses (like Class AA, AS, ANA, CA, CS, CNA) that match residents with the right type of care based on their needs and how much help they need moving around or with thinking and memory. The community's got a range of places, some set up specifically for memory care, with Heritage Court, Lincoln Village, and Oak Park Place tied to the "Memory Care" name, and they have skilled nursing on hand that covers medical care, wound care, and things like rehabilitation, sometimes up to three hours a week or more if there's special permission. Social life matters here, too, with group activities and daily programs based on what folks like to do-along with community common areas where people can chat or have some quiet time, plus wellness programs, helping keep spirits up and bodies moving. There's independent living options where seniors don't have to fuss much over chores or maintenance, with amenities like housekeeping, linen service, cable, Wi-Fi, and phone lines included, all to support dignity and independence, but with back-up on hand if something changes, so if a resident starts needing more help, they can get it without leaving the community. The place is state-licensed to care for five or more people who aren't related, and care gets personalized, with each resident getting a care plan suited for them, and there's endowment and security deposit fees, but also community help, with daily activities and opportunities to meet new people, and families can keep track of what's happening through online tools, since Whistling Pines uses things like Birdeye, which helps manage reviews and reputation online, including web chat for visitors and a blog with general tips, with a Google rating of 3.3 stars from 4 reviews. The facility stays open every day from eight in the morning to eight at night, and the owner hasn't claimed the online business profile yet, but anyone can see the amenities and activities available, with care tailored to various needs, whether that's everyday help, memory support, or skilled nursing, and the whole set-up is built for safety, comfort, and keeping older adults as independent and engaged as possible.
