    Great people, location; poor care

I appreciated the excellent, caring, professional staff, pleasant atmosphere, good food choices and a quiet, walkable neighborhood with grocery and pharmacy nearby. However management is poorly run: I encountered poor staff attitudes at times, unreliable delivery service, falsely advertised services and no bathing or dressing assistance - overall the services felt sub-standard. Mixed experience: great people and location, but unacceptable gaps in basic care.

    About Willow Creek Of Buffalo

Willow Creek Of Buffalo sits at the base of the Big Horn Mountains in a quiet part of Buffalo, Wyoming, close to grocery stores and pharmacies you can walk to, and the place feels homey because it's small, with only about twelve beds, so staff and residents get to know each other, and there's a cozy front porch where people watch the mountains. The facility works as an Assisted Living Facility but also covers a bunch of different care types, like assisted living, memory care, independent living, home care, and even nursing services and senior apartments, giving people a lot of choices so folks can move in and get the level of help that fits their lives, and you'll find private and two-bedroom spots, some already furnished with their own bathrooms, while laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance are often included. There's a community fee-sometimes called a reservation deposit-that usually gets refunded if someone can't move in because of health issues, so it gives a bit of peace of mind to families, and the base fee depends on the room style and usually covers monthly rent, some meals, cable, and utilities.

People say the staff, mostly Certified Nursing Assistants that might not always be fully certified, work hard and know healthcare, and residents have one CNA caring for all needs during a shift, doing cleaning and cooking too, which makes the place run more like a big family; there are always staff around because care is offered twenty-four hours. Some reviews say staff are caring and professional, others worry about staff levels or how well care is given, especially since the meals don't always get good reviews, as food can be bland or not nutritious, but folks do get choices if they don't like what's for dinner, and there are home-cooked meals every day.

Willow Creek uses a multi-level model for care, which means residents get help with things like dressing, eating, bathing, medication reminders, and any activities of daily living, and everyone gets a personalized care plan to fit what they need, so some people get more support, others less. The memory care area assists those with Alzheimer's or dementia and keeps everyone safer with simple routines and set activities, while the assisted living part helps seniors who want more independence but need reminders and a hand now and then. They also offer supportive services and have independent living options with a focus on active, social life-there are always games, activities, and social events, both inside and outdoors in common areas, and a lot of people say those help residents feel less lonely and more engaged. Residents enjoy laundry service, housekeeping, recreation, and even devotional services that are held offsite for those interested.

Willow Creek Of Buffalo belongs to a group that runs similar places across Wyoming, in towns like Evanston, Gillette, Cody, Worland, and Sheridan, and the company's won the Best of Senior Living 2025 award, which means people have recognized the effort they make, but things still vary day-to-day. It's a good fit if someone wants a quieter, more personal setting, a high staff-to-resident ratio, and isn't looking for fancy meals, yet wants the basics covered, cozy surroundings, and a staff that tries to keep folks active, cared for, and comfortable.
