    Warm, family-like care; rude desk

I feel at home here - the staff are caring, competent, and the facility is warm, family-like with excellent care. My only issue is the phone/front-desk customer service can be rude.

About Cottonwood Creek Memory Care Unit

Cottonwood Creek Memory Care Unit, found at 6800 Faith Drive in Cheyenne, WY, is a place where folks with dementia or Alzheimer's live in a safe, caring setting that feels more like a home than a facility, and you'll notice they don't have flickering lights or beeping buzzers in the halls because they think comfort and calm come first, so every resident gets a private or double room with its own bathroom, and you'll see kitchens or kitchenettes, washers and dryers, and cable TV right in the room so people can keep some routines and comforts close by. The building has secure exits, a covered patio, a backyard, walking paths, and a circular floor plan-so wandering is safer, and there's always a spot to sit with visitors, and with a monitored exit, families know folks are looked after, especially if memory loss makes getting around confusing.

The staff provides help around the clock, so if someone needs help bathing, dressing, or taking medicine, or if they need a hand getting from the bed to a chair, trained people are always nearby, and you'll find that folks who need help with eating, laundry, housekeeping or personal grooming get it from aides who know dementia care and aim to say yes to helping residents and families, keeping life comfortable and familiar. Home-cooked meals come with options for allergies, diabetes, or special diets, and all-day dining means residents can eat when they're ready, not just at set times, and there's a family-style kitchen and an open family room for socializing, plus a separate dining room if someone wants a bit more structure.

The staff organizes daily activities like arts and crafts, group games, movie nights, and even trips to local museums and gardens, and you'll see planned outings with handicap-accessible transportation so people can get out and enjoy the area, sometimes just for a local scenic drive-which helps residents stay active and feel connected, and the social side stays strong because staff encourage friendly conversation and laughs, making the atmosphere warmer and less lonely, and there's even beauty, barber, and salon services on site, so folks can always feel put together.

Medical care is always close by, with services like nurses, medication administration, wound care and occupational therapy, and they work with doctors and podiatrists to make sure all needs are covered, with regular wellness checks, health programs, and an emergency alert system built-in; plus, extra supports help residents who use wheelchairs or have mobility issues get around and join in, and insurance like long-term care is accepted to help with costs since the price is all-inclusive, which means families don't get extra bills for little things. Cottonwood Creek's overall design, with textures and colors chosen for comfort and easy navigation, and a cozy, quiet residential feel, helps people with Alzheimer's and dementia feel safe, while the close-knit feel, friendly staff, and regular routines build a steady, supportive surrounding that tries to match what residents have liked all their lives. If a family wants a home-like, secure place with real memory care and lasting support, this community aims to offer just that, doing its best to treat folks as people first, every single day.
