    About The Hilltop

The Hilltop in Florence, AL, is a senior living community that offers several levels of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and respite care, all together in one single-story setting so folks don't have to worry about stairs, and the campus has two main buildings called Hilltop at Glenwood I and II, each one with 16 studio apartments which come with private bathrooms and are pet-friendly if you've got a companion you want to bring along, and they let visitors join for meals too so having company is easy, and the community allows for both private and semi-private rooms, all fully air-conditioned with individual climate controls for comfort. Residents can find pharmacies, parks, cafes, and churches right nearby, and there's a van for scheduled transportation, plus hospital and physician offices close for quick access to healthcare, and a pharmacy delivers medications right to your room whether you need a little help or a lot. With trained staff on site, including a Medical Director, Dr. Christine Davis, M.D., who has over 15 years in rehab and long-term care, and an Administrator, Vanessa Narmore, LNHA, who's worked in long-term care since 1996, residents get daily help with personal care, hygiene, medication management, and specialty services like dementia care, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, psychiatric, physiatry, vision, hearing, and dental care, and even help managing dietary needs for different health conditions. The Hilltop's skilled nursing section has 125 beds for short-term rehab, long-term care, and respite stays, and offers therapies like physical, occupational, and speech, plus special programs for orthopedic and outpatient rehabilitation, hospice, and palliative care, so you can recover or rest comfortably, and they've got private hospice rooms if they're needed. The place is committed to serving veterans with a WE HONOR VETERANS program, and supports residents' spiritual and cultural needs through regular religious services-Protestant included-a chapel, and devotional services both here and offsite, so there are plenty of opportunities to stay connected spiritually, and interpreter services are available if needed. The Hilltop keeps life active and social with indoor and outdoor common areas-like sunrooms, TV lounges, and a cozy fireplace for gatherings-plus gardens and walking paths, scenic courtyards, community and activity rooms, and even a state-of-the-art fitness center for those wanting to keep moving, and planned excursions, music, movement classes, bingo, cookie baking, and other structured activities fill up the calendar along with live entertainment and cultural programs if you're looking for something fun. Residents get maintenance-free living with regular housekeeping, laundry-even dry cleaning and mail service-and everyday chores are taken care of, making life easier and giving more time to enjoy the beautiful grounds or relax in the café with always available menu options and three meals a day, which are home-cooked and hearty, with private dining rooms for family events, in-room dining if preferred, and options for special diets managed with care for different needs. The building is smoke-free, features an alarm system for added safety, especially for those with memory concerns, and wireless internet plus phone service are available in every room, and there's a front desk team for questions or help at any time. There's a beauty salon and barber shop on site for haircuts and personal grooming, and pet therapy is offered for those who enjoy animal company. Parking's available for residents, and the community hosts events so folks can make new friends and find a sense of belonging, with staff focused on health, wellness, and personal preferences, making sure everyone is safe, supported, and can live as independently as possible. The Hilltop fits into a family-friendly neighborhood, close to parks and local events, and values diversity, equity, and inclusion so everyone's treated with respect and dignity, and the staff at The Hilltop aim to support every need, big or small, so those living there-and their families-can feel comfortable and well-cared for every day.
