    About Third Way Ctr

Third Way Ctr sits at 1133 Lincoln St in Denver, offering care mainly for teens and young adults aged 14 through 21, and while it focuses a great deal on those dealing with substance use, trauma, serious emotional disturbance, and co-occurring mental health disorders, it's also managed to create a safe living space and community-based support for young women, even providing programs just for teen mothers that offer parenting support and therapy, along with childcare for young kids, and you'll see they reach out with programs for both men and women, giving gender-specific help and activities, which turns out helpful when building good habits or friendships. The program provides residential care 24/7, so everyone has the support they need day and night, and with the special encephalopathy unit, young people healing from trauma or brain injuries receive unique attention here, making it the only one of its kind in the United States. Inside, youth get to live in homes with help for daily tasks like dressing or bathing, and while meals use quality ingredients and the dining rooms can be lively, it always comes back to well-being and support for each resident. Third Way Ctr offers trauma therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and individual and group therapy, all led by licensed staff known by many to be kind, joyful, and helpful-which has even won them awards like Best of Senior Living. Residents can join in recreational activities and physical therapy, plus there's vocational training, budgeting, independent living skills, tobacco cessation, suicide prevention, medication for substance use issues like Suboxone or Methadone, and crisis intervention. Third Way Ctr runs two state-approved high schools including the Joan Farley Academy, so teens who live here can keep up with school, earn a diploma or their GED, and take part in vocational or job skill assessments, plus they offer job help and supported employment, so residents aren't just standing still. The care covers everyone from those with serious mental illness or emotional disturbance to veterans and the homeless, and there's support in both English and Spanish, even for hearing-impaired youth. The program lets residents step down to lighter levels of care through their Next Steps program and always carries on aftercare and emancipation planning. Medicaid, private health insurance, self-pay, and some government funding all make it easier to get help, and with five licensed residential facilities including Lowry Campus, Pontiac, and York St., the center helps about 80 youth at a time, while focusing every day on safety, stability, and giving young people tools to succeed in life, even after they leave the program.
