    Caring boutique facility, inconsistent staffing

I would recommend Sage Oaks - it's a boutique, home-like assisted living with caring, servant-hearted caregivers, responsive management, excellent food, strict Covid protocols, large ensuite rooms that are cleaned and painted between residents, and dignity/comfort for my loved one. I did need a dedicated caregiver for one-on-one attention and found activity engagement low and a bathroom layout awkward. Staffing can be inconsistent: most staff are attentive and hardworking, but two staff members ruined my experience, so families may need to advocate. I strongly suggest installing a camera in the room and staying involved with regular visits; with that, it's a great choice.

About Sage Oak - Preston Hollow

Sage Oak - Preston Hollow sits about 3.8 miles outside Addison, Texas, in a quiet Dallas neighborhood bordered by two business districts that have restaurants, shops, and an antique mall, so residents can enjoy both peace and easy access to local spots if they want, and this place is a small, 8-bed boutique assisted living and memory care home that's made to feel comfortable and homey with private bedrooms-including a Presidential Suite for two-big airy living spaces with soaring ceilings, and a backyard where folks can relax or join in on gardening and social activities. The community has a focus on personalized care for seniors who want to keep their independence but need help with daily things like bathing, getting dressed, or managing medication, and with only a handful of residents, the staff can keep the care personal and attentive, giving one-on-one support that's just not possible in bigger places, plus there's a nurse on staff, and you get a higher caregiver-to-resident ratio than in typical nursing homes. There are daily activities, games, religious services, arts and crafts, live performances, outings, and fitness programs, along with a pet-friendly policy so you don't have to leave your companion behind, and housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and transportation help means you don't have to worry much about chores or errands, and they've got a professional chef serving three home-cooked meals and snacks every day, taking care of dietary needs, offering room service and guest meals if friends or family stop by. Security and safety are important here, too, with 24-hour awake staff, round-the-clock CCTV surveillance, and building upgrades aimed at keeping things both modern and safe, which gives peace of mind, especially for families who are worried about wandering if a loved one has Alzheimer's or another dementia-since the place is also licensed and certified both for assisted living and dementia care, and they run special memory care programs with activities meant to help keep folks engaged and try to reduce confusion. The rooms come with Wi-Fi, premium TV, a kitchen, and laundry in-room, and residents are encouraged to decorate their own spaces with favorite items from home, which can really help with feeling settled, while other amenities, like a theater room, an outdoor patio, walking paths, and gathering spaces, mean there's always somewhere to chat, relax, or join in. Sage Oak - Preston Hollow sticks out for keeping things small, personal, and focused on the right balance of privacy, comfort, activity, and care, and community reviews suggest that at least one person has found the place worth mentioning online.
