      Friendly caring staff but pricey

I had a very positive experience - friendly, caring owners and staff, long-tenured caregivers and an RN on-site 24/7 in a clean, pretty country setting with activities and hospice support. Communication was excellent and residents seemed happy, though food variety is limited, I noticed minor overmedication concerns, and it felt crowded. It's a top-two choice for me but quite expensive and currently limited in availability, so recommend if your budget allows.

      About Fleurdleys Inc.

Fleurdleys Inc. sits out in the country on six acres of woods near South Fort Worth and stays pretty quiet, with a gated entry for extra security, and people seem to appreciate that slower pace, especially since the place only holds about 10 or so folks as a Small Type B Assisted Living home. Staff have been there a long time and know how to care for seniors, and they're always nearby since they give care 24/7-helping with things like bathing, dressing, taking medicine, daily chores, and moving around, which is good for people needing more hands-on support. The community has memory care services in a secure setting, with trained staff for Alzheimer's and related needs, and if someone wanders toward an exit, the alert system lets staff know.

Different living spaces are available, semi-private and private rooms, all fully furnished, and some even come with a kitchenette. Staff arrange meals, often home-cooked and sensitive to allergies or diabetes, with meals served in a dining room or available all day, and they'll adjust for special diets. People keep busy with activities both on and offsite-things like movie nights, group outings, devotional services, and church visits for those wanting spiritual support. There's hair and nail care, a beauty and barber area, and spaces to visit indoors or outdoors, plus walking paths and a garden. The surroundings look homelike and clean, with a cozy, close-knit feel that many seniors find comforting, and you'll hear about residents gathering together or getting help from familiar staff, like a real neighborhood.

Staff include a licensed nursing facility administrator and a registered nurse, and there's a dentist, a doctor on call, and a nurse on call as well. Therapy services like podiatrist, physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available, plus a dentist drops by. They provide hospice and respite care too, meaning someone can stay for a short time so caregivers at home get a break. Families who need it can use VA benefits or long-term care insurance, which is helpful since rates start around $583-published prices are available. The home has Wi-Fi, cable, a phone in the room, and transportation for appointments or errands. Common areas-inside and outside-give people space to relax or enjoy the fresh air. Wheelchair-accessible showers and non-ambulatory care mean people with limited mobility still get around safely, plus staff offer help with laundry, linens, housekeeping, and even dry cleaning.

It's a Christian-based home, focusing on love, care, dignity, and family values, with devotional options for those interested. The community is small, with capacity for just 10 to 13 seniors, so everyone gets more personalized care and the staff tailor help to each resident's needs. Regular church groups visit, offering support for spiritual needs, and staff take time with every resident to make sure they feel at home. Fleurdleys Inc. accepts both men and women, though not both at the same time, and has a solid reputation for over two decades for quality care, earning a 4.0-star rating considered excellent among families who've reviewed it. Residents get access to parking, dining options, and scheduled group activities to keep up with friends and stay engaged. The place really aims for a homely, secure, and loving environment designed for seniors who want support and a strong sense of community, and it stays licensed and closely managed to meet all state and local regulations.
