    Compassionate caregivers, clean, home-like facility

I moved my mother into this hospice-style senior home and she's been very well cared for. Caregivers are patient, compassionate and attentive - they even respond quickly at night to the call bell. The facility is clean, home-like and attractive with well-thought care equipment, wonderful food and fair rates. Activities are limited and staff can be a bit sedate, but overall wonderful people - I highly recommend it.

    About Covenant Care

Covenant Care sits on Williams Avenue West in the Ballard area of Seattle, Washington, and you'll find it close to bus lines with resident parking and easy access for visits from 9:00am to 8:00pm, which helps families stay connected with loved ones. The place is run by Joshua's Covenant Care LLC and is registered as an Adult Family Home with DSHS, handling senior housing for up to six residents in a free-standing community, and all rooms are within a small and close-knit setting, which some people like since it feels homier and manageable. The staff stays awake and on duty 24 hours a day, with a nurse on staff, and they've got visiting nurses and therapists-like podiatrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists-so people can get most medical attention they need without leaving the building unless necessary. They take care of a range of needs, from Light Care, where folks mainly need reminders or supervision, up through Medium and even Heavy Care for those needing full help with daily life and health, and they have special attention for high acuity needs like diabetic care with insulin shots, bowel or bladder incontinence, and even complex behavioral symptoms like acting out or wandering. The building itself has stand-alone memory care, secure with technology like a wander alert system and bracelets, geared especially for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental or mental health conditions, so that confusion or risk of elopement's managed and everybody stays safe. You'll find both indoor and outdoor common areas, wheelchair accessible showers and full tubs, a yard, maybe even a book room, and there's space for crafts, board games, outdoor relaxation, a possible jacuzzi, fitness area, and a salon with a mobile barber or hairdresser stopping by as needed. Staff help with showering, dressing, grooming, movement around the building, and nearly every activity of daily living someone could need, including assisted transfers with things like mechanical lifts if necessary; they handle medication management and blood sugar checks, and they know how to help residents with big care needs-age doesn't have to be over 55, either, since they include younger adults who need support. Dietary options cover regular, kosher, and vegetarian meals, three home-cooked dishes a day, with changes for folks who need low-salt or diabetic-friendly choices, and transportation can be set up for doctor's appointments, errands, or faith-based activities. There are regular activities scheduled, from entertainment like movies, music treatments, and spiritual services both onsite and offsite, to exercise programs, pet therapy, and group crafts, so something's usually happening to keep people busy and connected to others. Respite care and hospice are part of the services, too, and when a resident's needs increase over time, Covenant Care's staff and space can flex to keep providing the needed support. The whole facility's meant to be a steady, watchful, and caring environment for folks needing either a little more attention or the kind of constant close care that helps them stay safe and comfortable-never fancy or showy, but reliable, licensed, and standing ready to give both peace of mind and daily help in a small community near Seattle's Ballard neighborhood.
