    Caring facility, pricey but recommended

I moved my mom here and overall we're very pleased - friendly, attentive staff; clean, well-maintained, bright rooms and lovely grounds; good dining and a steady slate of activities. Memory care and 24/7 nursing are available, move-in was smooth, and residents seem happy and social. Downsides: it's pricey, a few staff inconsistencies and occasional care lapses have occurred, and it may be far for some visitors. Despite that, my mom is safe, settling in, and I would recommend it.

The Terrace at Priceville sits at 200 Terrace Lane in Priceville, AL and offers a wide range of living options for seniors, including independent living cottages, assisted living apartments, and memory care services tailored for folks with Alzheimer's disease or other memory concerns, and even has skilled nursing and continuing care retirement community options. The apartments come in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, and some have full kitchens or kitchenettes, so people can cook if they want. The place is pet-friendly, so residents can bring their own animals, and there's even a dog park and pet therapy available. Residents have many opportunities to stay active with indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, group trips, clubs, exercise classes, and a walking area by the lake and pond, or by spending time in the gardens, gazebo, or in the activity center where the staff set up games, movie nights in the theater, and other hobbies. Meals are available daily with the MyChoice Dining Program, and people can eat in restaurant-style dining rooms or private dining rooms if they want something more personal, and there's a bar and cocktail lounge too. A Food Network celebrity chef helps design the meals which use fresh, seasonal ingredients, and they can personalize meals based on each resident's needs or preferences. The community offers regular happy hour events, volunteer opportunities, and religious services in the chapel, with a business office manager named Sandy Sons on staff. The beauty salon and barbershop lets residents take care of their appearance without leaving the building, and there's internet, satellite TV, and basic cable available throughout the community. Staff keeps the place clean and friendly, calling residents by their first names or nicknames. People have housekeeping, transportation, and laundry services, concierge service for extra help, covered parking, and security since the property's gated. Residents can see real nurses 24/7 and have in-house doctor visits as needed, with care plans for those who need help with daily living or have memory impairments. The place is designed to feel both fancy and comfortable, with a clubhouse, activity studios, card and game rooms, a library, computer workstations, and plenty of places to sit and talk. People can choose long-term or short-term stays, take part in community programs, and enjoy outings or shopping nearby. Overall, the staff aims to help everyone relax and have a carefree retirement, supporting folks as much or as little as they need so they can focus on the simple pleasures of each day.
