Edgewater Pointe Estates, known also as Edgewater at Boca Pointe, sits at 23315 Blue Water Cir in Boca Raton, Florida, and covers about 30 acres with several sparkling lakes, so the grounds have some nice places to walk and even go fishing, and there's a putting green for folks who like golf, and there are two temperature-controlled swimming pools with what they call resort-style amenities, though the details about what's included there aren't always clear. The campus has walking trails and a few fishing lakes that people spend time at. The community offers different places to live for adults 55 and older, like studios, one, two, or three-bedroom apartments, though the listings don't spell out the interiors or what view you'd get, and there are no details on what's allowed for pets. It's set up for independent retirement living, so most folks living there don't need much help, but they do have assisted living, skilled nursing care, memory care, short-term respite care, and even rehabilitation therapy, and that means people can stay as their health or needs change over time. They don't include utilities, so that's something to ask about, and they mention parking, but there's nothing much about how that works either. There's some kind of internet and satellite service, but no details. Some reviews from residents and families say people seem satisfied overall. The staff provides 24-hour nursing and personal care for folks who need more supervision, and there are accommodations for those needing long-term care, like private suites and skilled nursing beds, as well as help for people with memory loss. The building's accessibility features, such as entrances and floors, aren't described in detail. Edgewater Pointe Estates is an option for people looking for a retirement community in Boca Raton that covers independent living, assisted living, and more advanced care, and it seems to be designed for people who want to plan ahead yet still stay independent as long as they can.

Beautiful but unreliable, noisy, expensive
I stayed briefly at this gated, fully secured, resort-like high-rise with a theatrical, breathtaking lobby and modern, roomy two-bedroom suites - the gym, pool, activities and friendly staff impressed me. The grounds and food were lovely, laundry on every floor and lots to do for independent living. But it's very expensive, has limited skilled nursing, and I ran into serious red flags: noisy golf carts and early-morning racing, poor grounds/pond maintenance (stench, iguanas), some disengaged or unprofessional staff, and an incident where care was denied and I was charged aggressively. Renovations are happening and the location is convenient but noisy; long-distance families will struggle to visit. Beautiful facility, but disappointing and not what I'd recommend if you need reliable, professional care.
